  • Why do women ask for marital advice then get mad at the person who answers?

Answered a question this morning from a women whining that her husband doesn't compliment. Plus, when they go out, he looks at another woman's chest.

She emails me (I cut and pasted--enjoy the typos) Message: it wasnt a bar, we were having dinner and this girl walked past our window and stood there for a few minutes with her friends. maybe you should jump to conclusions.

Well, maybe I should. Why do women ask for marital advice then get mad at the person who answers?
I wouldn't complain I would value any advice and or opinions. I think the world is full of varied points of view and to make an informed decision you need to have your eyes opened to them all. This woman is blinkered cos she doesnt want to know the truth. I hid from the truth and learnt a lesson. Feel free to give your points of view to my questions anytime! Why do women ask for marital advice then get mad at the person who answers?
I have a friend who was in a bad relationship. The guy was cheating on her half the time. When she complained about him and I agreed with her, everything was fine, But as soon as they had made up again, she got mad at me for agreeing with her in the first place. Some people want someone to disagree so that they can go back to their rose tinted view of their relationships. Apparently the nile is particularly nice this time of year.
would love to have seen the original question and your response...

Where can I get free legal advice concerning the Housing association I rent a flat from and the problems I am?

Having regarding anti social behaviour. The H.A. are bloody useless and they keep making excuses and not tackling the problem.I am at my wits end. Thanks in advance.Where can I get free legal advice concerning the Housing association I rent a flat from and the problems I am?
Your best bet is to go and see either your local Citizens Advice Bureau or Shelter - who offer a National Housing Advisory Service. Either of these organisations will be able to help you to resolve the problem.Where can I get free legal advice concerning the Housing association I rent a flat from and the problems I am?
Have a word with a solicitor, most will give you the initial interview free. Ring a few and find one that does. Find out who your local councillor is, they're supposed to help . . .
go to a solicitor if on low income you will get help , they will fight your corner , dont let the housing asc, get away .all they want is your rent come end of the day
Go to the Legal Aid Society. They have an Attorney who handles all Housing issues.
try the citizens advice bureau baby! good luck.
try your local citizens advice bureux, your local council or even your local community police.do you have any of those new estate ';wardens '; that patrol estates ?even they might be able to help.,or your local councillor. good luck
Put a complain into you Aottorney General Office and write a letter conserning your problem.
What state are you in? Most of HA Law varies from state to state. (It's a sub-chapter of Corporate Law, which also varies state to state).

It depends on what you consider ';anti-social behavior,'; but there aren't many laws that I know of that would regulate such a thing.

Can I get some advice with my period?

I'm 15, a virgin, and had my period since i was 10. It has always been reguar and I usually get it between 25-35 days. But for a couple of months now it has either been coming late and lasting for about a week and a half or two, when it usually lasted for 5 days. But my last one came early and it lasted about 5 days and seemed like my cycle got back on track. But now I havn't gotten it in about 40 days. What do I do? Help! Can I get some advice with my period?
There can be a lot of factors in irregular periods. The length of is kind of long. You could have a simple cyst which is not uncommon. It wouldn't hurt to talk to a female adult you trust (mom, aunt, school counselor) and maybe make an appointment with your doctor. Your regular doctor may be able to help out, If not they may refer (send) you to a female doctor (OB-GYN). There are a lot of things that can be done to help. Good luck...Can I get some advice with my period?
    this is COMPLETELY fine.

my period used to be really really heavy, lasted for a week or a little bit more and out of the blue decided it wanted to come every 2weeks...my mom thought i had this thing i can't member wot it is called but its wen your period comes alot and it can cause u to not be able to have children so we went to the doctor for a quick check up and she said i was fine but she put me on the pill so my period come only once a month and also because the pill gives you light flow periods...its really good coz u can pretty much plan when u want your period and there's no sitting round wondering wen or if it will come..

    -good luck! xx
the first thing i would do is talk to your mom ask her what her cycle was like when she was your age it might be just the ';late'; stages of your puberty. But it could be some thing like Polycystic ovaries wich is just some time fluid filled cyst on your ovaries or your thyroid could be out of wack .
It sounds like you're not ovulating, which, at your age, isn't a problem, but it can cause some hastles in the future when you want to fall pregnant. Speak to your doctor- he might want to get your hormones checked, and he might want you to keep a journal of what happens and when.
tlk to ur mom and ask her to get you an appointment with an OB-GYN. they'll most likely put you on a low dosage of birth control to make your period regular. this is very normal to happen at your age, dont worry.

    =]
irregularities can be caused by many things - significant weightloss or weight gain, stress, hormonal changes, hormonal imbalances, change in diet etc etc etc etc.... if this continues see the doctor and have them investigate...
    talk to you mom

Where Do You Get Your Fashion Advice?

What sites, magazines, or TV shows do you look at to get your fashion advice or tips?Where Do You Get Your Fashion Advice?
Myself! I'm too old to get fashion advice. By the time you are 16, you should know your style and rock it! I'm 23, and I've always had a more earthy chic kind of style. I hate trends. Why look like everybody else when you can stand out :)

I love shopping online and through catalogs because no one can look like you when you go to school. Try it. Everybody will ask where'd you get that...I always tell them it was a gift lol so I can keep my secret stores to myself.

Hone your style!Where Do You Get Your Fashion Advice?
I usually go by the crowd I hang out with, we tend to have the same thoughts on fashion and shop in the same stores. Although I like what celebrities wear, I don't base my fashion off of them. And if not by my friends and I'm out shopping, I go by what the stores themselves set up on mannequins sometimes.
i can't trust my best friends sometimes, so, i go by my own opinion. whatever makes you comfortable and is appropriate. i'll get the occasional 17 mag.

Can I get some advice on buying a desktop?

Should I buy new, second hand or refurbished?

What are the issues associated with each? I can think generally of guarantees, security, price, software. I'm no expert at all though and I'd like to balance the pros and cons before making a decision. Can I get some advice on buying a desktop?
I'd go for new. As stated, second hand is out of date, and might have problems that you don't know about. Refurbished is probably ok for second choice as it will have been checked over and will be under a warranty.

Remember to get a proper surge protector with modem protection, the Belkin is about a tenner from Curries. It will protect you from a lightning strike down the phone line, as well as a power surge through the wall socket. An extension cable 'with surge protection' is not the same thing, avoid like the plague.

Also cost in a proper office desk and chair or you risk ending up with a bad back. And get a cd wallet to keep all your program discs in one safe place in case you ever need to re-install!

As for security, new is a problem as they all try to sell you a suite; and thats not the best option.

    Here's a list of freeware you can use;

The Windows firewall doesn't stop malware on your pc from dialling out. Zone Alarm firewall is free for personal use and stops unwanted incoming and outgoing traffic. You choose which programs are allowed to access the internet. It's fairly easy to use and updated regularly.

    Go with new.

    Second hand is old tech.

Refurbished had problems before and they can occour again.

New is better in any way but it will more expensive
Go for desktop every time....Dell have some good deals...I bought a Dimension 3200 from them a year ago....superb !! and very cheap.
buy new and cheap www.savastore.com Keep away from Dell as i personally dont like them and also they are a white good....when the tech is old you just throw it out and buy a new 1. Not good at all and also a bit of a bu**er when they go wrong.

    Just my 2 cents

    Regards

    Rob
I'd go with new, you'll often be able to customise them to some extent to get exactly what you want and they'll be able to run the latest software more effectively as they're generally faster.

Security generally isn't an issue for refurbs as they'll have been updated with the latest patches for whatever operating system they're running. Second hand computers are a bit more dodgy as you don't know whether they've been kept well by the previous owners.

The main advantage, other than customisability, of new computers is the warranty - you get a VERY limited warranty on refurbs and no warranty on second hand computers.

The main disadvantages of new computers is the price, though that is often offset by reliability, the fact you get legit software with full keys, support for your machine and compatibility with the latest products.

Personally I'd go with Mesh Computers http://www.meshcomputers.com/ , they're very good computers, their customer service is excellent. They're a little more expensive than some, but it's definitely worth it. Also they do computers with AMD processors which, in my opinion, totally outstrip the performance of Intel processors.
always buy new, refurbished are refurbished for a reason, they have broken down b4 recently, and are likely to do it again 1 week after your warranty runs out. I always recommend www.tiger-direct.com for buying computers, cheap prices make it a must see for computer buyers
if you buy new buy from an assured manufacturer. If you buy from a Private, always make sure the software is legal. windows XP has a CD key on the outside of the case for verification the same goes for some other software but NOT ALL.

    Dell are good price,

    pcworld are over priced

    try meshcomputers.com

If you buy second hand, same as above but always make sure you get a written letter from the seller detailing the warranty information normally 14-28 days.

If you buy a reconditioned computer the waraunty should be 28 days.

    Hope this helps
My advice is to go onto the WHICH? online magazine. They are excellent at giving impartial advice on best value for money. I know you specified desktop, but if you're looking for a laptop ACER are supposed to be good.

    Hope this helps!!!

Can I get some advice on how can meet more Deists?

Since Deism has no religion or organized worshipping system its very hard to know who is deist or not. . Being an ex-muslim i dont really fit in well with other muslims anymore. So it would be nice to meet some deists and share the same beliefsCan I get some advice on how can meet more Deists?
Deists basically wish to follow their own beliefs in private... they have no need for community to convince themselves that they made the right choices... they already KNOW they made the right choices... and they are not trying to convert others to their thinking.

The closest you may want to look into is the Secular Humanists... they sometimes have weenie-roasts where they don't talk about god or religions... because they are already comfortable with their choices.

Of course, if you ask a conservative christian where to find Deists, they'll point you to the Satanists. LOL!!!Can I get some advice on how can meet more Deists?
Most christians are deists, they don't read the bibble or care anything about what it's all about, they just believe in this god guy, and claim he's love even though he's a maniac in the bibble.
May Allah (swt) guide you in the right path. Ameen.

May I know why you left Islam, brother?
Jesus Christ is the only Deity out there.

  • Where can I get free legal advice online?

I am very young and just getting out of a verbally abusive relationship. I don't know whether to try for sole custody of my 3 month old and child support. He has a record but it was before he was 18 so it was expunged (it was for assult). He is very verbally abusive even in front of our son and I am scared it will lead to physical. I need legal advice.

Any idea where I can get legal advice free?Where can I get free legal advice online?

An Avvo lawyer - Jacqueline Harounian, Esq - wrote a relevant article: How to Protect Yourself and Your Children from Domestic Violence. Here's the link: http://www.avvo.com/legal-guides/ugc/how-to-protect-yourself-and-your-children-from-domestic-violence

If he EVER verbally abuses you in front of you child again call the police and tell them you fear for your life. They will come sooner. Tell them he was arrested one for assault. You need to do this to get it on record if you want any chance of getting sole custody. I am not sure why people think the legal advice should be free, but I guess it is like everyone wants welfare and let the govenment pay for it. If you are really poor, go to legal aide. the departemnt of social services can direct you. Or you can buy pre paid legal insurance for $16 month and talk to an attorney all money long. I know 'cause I sell the insurance.
First of all, most law offices will do a free consultation and may give free advice. It may or may not be accurate. the best alternative is to have a lawyer with you. Since you are the mother that will work in your favor.

You can also find a million websites by googling free legal advice. Good job on seeing a bad situation and walking away from it. I hope you and your child will get the help you need.

I've included some links that could help you emotionally.

The home is about 80 kms from the city of Nairobi -kenya i seriously need advice on how to get proper funding in future.Am currently running a children's home for the last 4 yrs but un able to get proper funding advice?
I am a co-founder for a non-profit organization called SOFTIN. What state are you located in? One of our major funding source is when we partnered up with the telecommunications industry. Everytime people pay their phone bills, VOIP, digital, video, Satallite T.V and cellular phone bills (through Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, Alltell and nextell) we get a percentage every single month. A great funding source for organizations. If you think about it, how many people do you know or know of that uses one or more of these types of services each day? A lot of people. Your organization can bring in a great amount of funding.

Theres also further study and things like that up there, check it out.Where is a good place to get free careers advice?
Read some tips on careers on this site
A career advisor would help anyone I would imagine. I think you would need some sort of idea what you would like to do though.
I am a HR manager and the owner of Get Notices Resume. What is your question?
try yahoo answers im 64 with four degrees and occasional successes. be glad to help
I think a lot of it depends on what kind of careers advice you want. If it's how to progress your career in the field you are in then you might want to talk to Recruitment Consultants that specialise in your field or use the Internet Job Boards (may of which have careers advice section).

If you are looking for a new career or change of direction then the local Job Centre or College could be a good place to start too.

If you are looking to become self-employed and start a busines then your local Chamber of Commerce and Business Link would be good.

    Hope that helps. Good luck.
    at a careers advice centre?
Contact a local college/uni. They are always really happy to help irrespective of whether you intend to go there or not.
Have you tried the job centre? If you give them a call and explain your situation, they'll probably make you an appointment to speak to someone face-to-face.
I would say any job posting web sight, sush as Careerbuilder, Hotjobs, and Indeed. Try the unemployment office, job fairs I know thats where you find jobs, but those people know what the trends are.

  • Where can I get advice on planning an all-inclusive destination wedding w/guests (indirectly) footing the bill

Any advice on locations (a summer camp, maybe??) or etiquette would be helpful!Where can I get advice on planning an all-inclusive destination wedding w/guests (indirectly) footing the bill
It's OK to expect the guests to pay for their own lodging at a destination wedding, but if you're trying to get them to pay for the venue, wedding food, officiant, music, photos, etc., that's uber-tacky.

I got married in Las Vegas. The Imperial Palace is a little beat up, but has pretty good location on the Strip. They gave me a discounted rate for a block of rooms for my guests. Guests were OK with it because the discounted room rate was less than $100/night (and who spends time in their room in Vegas anyway?) We did a great afternoon wedding for 50 at the Stratosphere Tower for less than $5K (including chapel, a great buffet, banquet room, officiant, photos, video, and an Elvis impersonator (optional)).Where can I get advice on planning an all-inclusive destination wedding w/guests (indirectly) footing the bill
My daughter is getting married in Jamaica this Christmas. She never sent out invitations, but told her friends whoever wanted to join them for a holiday was welcome. They are all paying their own way, and I don't think that's tacky at all. It's costing each couple 6000.00 USD for airfare from Vancouver BC, and 2 weeks at an all inclusive.

The wedding itself will be around 1000.00
    Tacky...to make them pay.

    You pay=not tacky.
Go to a travel agent and ask! Tere are literally tons of all-inclusives out there that can be affordable.

Or, we have been to several Vegas weddings that were elegant in nicer locations like Paris, The Venetian, and Bellagio. Plus Vegas is so much cheaper than some of the others.

    Good luck!

EDIT: If you're located in New England you can try Foxwoods Casino %26amp; Resort in Connecticut. They are very reasonably priced for a wedding/banquet. Plenty of activities like golf, hiking, and outdoors stuff for the non-gamblers. I beleive they also have an indoor pool, check their web site.
it isn't tacky. if you have a destination wedding you are not expected to pay for all of the guests rooms and transportation.
Go to your local Library and check out books on etiquette

go on line and get wedding info with destinations for budget

    Gatlinburg is a excellent choice.
My advice is if you cannot afford to foot the bill yourselves and you aren't willing to have a lot of people who would have come choose not to, then you should plan another kind of wedding.

Advice to get ready to run long distance?

Volleyball starts on August 12, and i know we are going to have to run a couple miles.

Right now, i am no where near going to be able to run the miles without having a heart attack. lol.

So, does anyone have any advice on how to get into shape quicker?Advice to get ready to run long distance?
DO NOT run 4-5 times a week. That's a shin splint or other injury waiting to happen. That's putting way too much stress on your shins and joints.

I would advise you to run 2 times a week, but when you do it, go until you can't take another step.

You can go 4-5 times a week, as long as you do a light workout, but that won't do you much good. I would say that on one running day, do long-distance, then the next running day, do sprints, for speed.Advice to get ready to run long distance?
Start slowly, running 5-6 times a week, then in about two weeks increase your length or try running twice a day, in the morning and at night, if you really want to be prepared to run many miles.
Run or walk at a comfortable pace. And get someone to run with.

Every state has law libraries. Google it, find one near you, go in and ask how to use the place. Just say I need to learn a few things about child custody laws. Flirt with a cute guy in a suite, he will help you.

Also use Ask.com, just type in your question and it may pop up an answer you need.Is there anywhere I can get free legal advice on child custody laws?
    It all depends.

What state do u live in now?

Is it the same state as the one ur husband will be in still?

    How old is ur daughter?

Cuz if ur in CA...they will not let u leave the state with a kid UNLESS she's better off elsewhere, if u have a steady job already out there waiting to make her life better, and if he's not supporting her, and whether or not he's fit to keep her here and in her life.
You can not take your child out of state, it's called kidnapping.

You'll need to get the courts permission to do this, and the fathers ok too.

Im 15 I just got a tattoo im worried if I start working out it will stretch and get ugly and advice?

no it won't stretch or get ugly.Im 15 I just got a tattoo im worried if I start working out it will stretch and get ugly and advice?
In any situation like weight gain or even pregnancy a tattoo can get stretched out.

Not to mention a stretch mark from weight gain.

I've seen this happen before and it's never pretty.

I've also seen tattoos that had to be cut as the person with the tattoo had to get surgery. The tattoos never seem to line up afterwords.

It can suck, it's not terribly common. But what can you expect for something of this nature.Im 15 I just got a tattoo im worried if I start working out it will stretch and get ugly and advice?
yes, it will stretch. let's look at this this way...

I was wondering if there was a way to get free business advice?

I wanted to start a online business collecting donations for something. I need to know if there is free business advice, for what I would need, to do this, and what rules I would need to follow if so, cause I don't want to get into any trouble. I want my donation business to be legal.I was wondering if there was a way to get free business advice?
Here is some good advice regarding the legality of starting an online business. You will need to look into what qualifies as a non-profit/not-for-profit in your area, as this can effect the requirements to get your business off the ground:

The museums are wonderful. Check out prices on line. We love the Shedd museum. The art museum is great.

Don't bother with shopping at Water Tower Place, it is kind of lame. But the area around there is fun.

Is there any place online were I can get hlep and advice with managing my money and making a budget ?

Or if anyone has any advice on how to setup a budget and good ways to manage money , it would be great appericated.

Thanks in advance !Is there any place online were I can get hlep and advice with managing my money and making a budget ?
If you know how to use Excel- I use that. I create rows for each of my monthly bills and a row for income and savings as well. The bills total at the bottom and then comes the income row so you can see if you are spending more than you are making. I have columns for each month so I can see the whole year at a glance. You can see what bills are too high that you can change, ex. insurance or cell phone. Shop around to make sure you are getting the most for your money. If you are tight on money, think about canceling things that aren't necessary like cable.

This sheet helps keep my finances in line and I also know when all the bills are coming due so there are no surprises. You do have to take the time to fill it in when you pay each bill, but it goes really fast once you have it set up. Good luck!Is there any place online were I can get hlep and advice with managing my money and making a budget ?

Where to get legal advice from solicitor via e-mail or call?

    Hi,

I have some business legal issue I want to sort out. I know there are a few companies offering legal advice via phone call or e-mails. Which are good ones or big ones? Please let me know

    Thanks a lot !

JoshWhere to get legal advice from solicitor via e-mail or call?
It is not a good idea to get legal advice over the Internet.

Call your local (usually county) bar association. Ask them for names of attorneys that handle business law.Where to get legal advice from solicitor via e-mail or call?
If via a call then ask if you may record the call ,so you can go back on the details , one to one conversation would be the best route as you can ask different questions depending on answers , have a list of points written out in front of you before making the call . In my own experience I would just go to the high street solicitor and sit down face to face ,it may work out cheaper in the long run
Most areas have small business help groups you could find out in the library.

If you problem is not major the CAB might be able to help.

If you do need a solicitor book an appointment, some offer a free session to look at your case. It would be far better to call in as you can take paperwork with you and have a proper interactive discussion.

Also it is better to see who is helping you to decide if you would work well with them.

It sounds like you are frustrated, and I can understand, I was in your position only 2 years ago. It wasn't until I became a financial counselor that I realized the mistakes I was making in my life. You'd be surprised that it's usually not the large bills that take our money every month, but the little ones that add up! I am recommending that you contact my former company http://www.incharge.org I am not promoting myself like that other guy with the link on his page (which appears to be some infomercial) I am truly trying to find a solution to your needs. Don't be embarrassed, as the friendly counselors will walk you through a budget (which can be quite detailed), you could even have them fax it or mail it to you. It doesn't hurt and maybe speaking to a counselor will help you think of things you haven't thought of as they come up with creative solutions to your monthly expenditures. Anyways, good luck with your situation and don't hesitate to ask me any questions!
Sounds like you need to sort out your budgeting to me. You will probably find that you spend too much on areas of life that aren't really all that important. Who knows what it might be until you record, analyse and assess your finances.

If you live in california, specifically in northern california. You can get free legal advice from volunteer lawyers from the family law facilitator center in Martinez, California. Not only can they help with child custody specifics, they can also give you a rough estimate of child support depending the information like how much the custodial parent makes, if there is another baby involved with either you or with anyone else.

    Unfortunately you need a lawyer.
You can contact the court clerk. They might have info on low cost or no cost agencies who might be able to provide you with help. You can also contact Bar Association in your county. They might have an attorney who works with people like in your situation.

    Good luck!
Child support is normally a matter of statute and pretty straightforward. You fill out the forms, and the forms determine what the child support is.

Custody/visitation is pretty standard also, unless you are going to fight for custody. Most states prefer to order joint custody where possible, with one party being the primary custodian.

You can get a free half hour consultation from an attorney that participates in the local pro bono bar program.

Why does the president often get narrow advice from committees and councils that advise him on policy matters?

Thanks for any inputWhy does the president often get narrow advice from committees and councils that advise him on policy matters?
it is my belief that the advice that he gets is exactly what he is looking for. time after time he has removed the individual that has spoken out, he has surrounded himself with yes men.

he came into office with a waring from the clinton people and he ignored it=911,General advised him that it will take thousands of soldiers to get the job done in Iraq=fired Gen. and a military blunder the likes that this country has ever seen. the list goes on and on. so, i guess, the answer to your question is the president is the reason that he gets poor advice.

Use one finger to control your upper lid. Hold the upper lid firmly against the bone above your eye.

Put the wet lens on a dry finger and with a third finger push your lower lid out of the way.

Now look at the lens and bring the lens closer and place it on the cornea. It can't go anywhere else if you keep looking at it.

Could I get some advice on getting my 7 yr old son a small pet, maybe a hamster?

My son is 7 and is desperate to have a pet hamster. Is this a good age to start letting children have responsibility for pets. We have two old cats, not much fun as they sleep most of the time, but I am in two minds as to whether I should get him a pet. Where would I keep it (in his room or downstairs?)

Any advice appreciated, cheers.Could I get some advice on getting my 7 yr old son a small pet, maybe a hamster?
I worked in a pet shop for 13 years and now work in a school so I know quite a bit about both sides!

Seven is the perfect age to have a pet and well done for being responsible enough to wait. People say all the time that they want a pet for their two year old and it drives me crazy!

Hamsters are nocturnal and this may cause handling issues because your son may be asleep when hammy decides to wake up.

Most hamsters wake up at around half five or six (pm) and if your son gains a routine with the hamster then he may even wake a little earlier, especially if there is a treat involved!

Syrian hamsters are much nicer than Russians or Chinese hamsters. Syrians may only be kept in singles and there is little difference between male and female. (Apart from the obvious!)

The Russians may be kept in twos and threes but tend to be quite nippy and you will need a big box of plasters.

As an alternative to a hamster, you may want to consider a rat? They make fantastic pets and can even learn to come back when called.

Most people keep hamsters in their bedroom but this is entirely your decision.Could I get some advice on getting my 7 yr old son a small pet, maybe a hamster?
I had a few pet hamster's and pet rats when I was younger and they were great fun to have. Although as the novelty wore off my auntie looked after them more then me. They need regular changing as there ammonia is very stringent and smelly. I would suggest you kept it down stairs and not in his room as you don't want his room to smell plus you can keep an eye on him with the hamster. Whatever you do though, don't get a small Russian hamster they are cute to look at but bite like hell!! I know I had one. Pet Rats are awesome the best pets I ever had and they live longer then hamsters and easily tamed. Hope this helps. Have fun :o)
A hamster is a brilliant idea and a pet that many children have. You have to be careful what type of hamster you get due to excessive breeding of some making them nasty little sods. Avoid chinese and russian dwarfs as these are v nasty, a robvorovski (not sure of spelling) hamster is a nice little pet but very fast, small and like to be kept in groups. Your best bet is a syrian hamster, there the bigger hamsters that you see more commonly and after you tame them nicely make brilliant pets. They can be a brilliant educational tool aswell. Be careful to only buy one as they are solitary animals and will fight in pairs sometimes to the death of one. also look out for dull eyes and a wet back end as this can be a sign of wet tail (diahrrhoea) that will eventually kill the hamster. Hope all this helps ;-)
Hi i had two hamsters when i was young! you will have to keep it out his room as it will keep him awake at night especially if the cage has a wheel! they spend most of the night awake %26amp; make a racket on those wheels! we had to train the hamster too- couldn't even pick it up at first- it wouldn't let us! i got bitten on several occasions- we got a book %26amp; it told us to put food on our hand and let the hamster come %26amp; get it %26amp; it bit the end of my finger! some technique! all the best though!

oh %26amp; my advice would be only one- my fiance's wee brother had two- he is 8 years old - and one of them ate the other one couple of weeks ago!
i got my son a dwarf hamster, easy and friendly to handle and to keep clean, i keep it down stairs mainly because they come awake and play in the damn wheel that squeaks on a night, but the dwarf ones are so cute and playful and because there small it helps teach children how to handle pets gently
If you get a small mammal, like a hamster or a mouse, be prepared to go on extensive hunting expeditions when the little rascal decides to explore the big wide world for itself!

Actually rats make very good pets. They are very intelligent, and because they are larger than mice and hamsters, far easier to find when they do get loose.

When I was a boy, I had a rat so tame and so smart, he'd actually come when I'd call.

Another thing you might think about is the animal itself! It will be much happier if it is not alone.

Males fight (sometimes to the death). This goes for ALL rodents: gerbils, mice rats, rabbits... So a good idea is to get two, or even three, females. Females are also much less likely to roam on the odd occasion one does get loose, and it will probably return to its little home all by itself. (And, by the way, they don't smell -- not like the males!!!)

Be careful WHERE and from WHOM you buy them.

Some of these animals are left over lab rats. That's okay. But often they have been bred to get cancer (not very pleasant for a seven year old to have to go through).

Know, too, that most small mammals do not live very long (mouse = 2 years MAX). Your child should be gently prepared for the inevitable when the time is right.

There are lots of good and simple books on small mammals and loads of info on the Internet, too.

I'd go with a pair of female rats.

    Hope this helps.
    guinea pig is better
A hamster is a good starter, but remember the stinch of the poop and the shavings leave an odor in the bedroom. If he has asthma or allergies, I would suggest that you keep it in the basement or family room.
    I can recommend rats.

They are a lot more fun then hamsters.

    I had 4 girls.

Hamsters are ok but they are nocturnal and are not good climbers. I think your son would have much more fun with a rat.

It is best to get 2 as rats are very sociable. Mine never ever bit me and they can learn their names.

I can't tell you how much better a rat is then a hamster and they are very clean animals. They will need a large cage and a room to be out in for play and exercise regularly.

They love climbing and playing and are very sweet.

Forget the stereotypical rat they are cuter the hamsters (in my opinion)
I had a guinea pig when I was 8. But you have to council him on the responsibility of keeping a pet in his room. That'll create a bond between him and his per--and your son will love you for it. (And make sure you tell him--don't make the hammy mad! Pet him gently, so he gets used to him. Talk to him.)
plz dont get a hammy and put it in a house with 2 cats, plz!!!!

he should not be given a hammy since they are asleep all day and the son will try to wake him up and play while the hammy will make noises at night when the boy is trying to sleep!!!

also he should not be given one as when u clean the cage out every week he will complain it is 2 smelly and will not want to keep the hammy anymore.

also hammys can become scared easily and bite if they have just been woken up, and a screaming kid will never touch or speak to the hamster ever again!!!

also cats r pretty smart and after just a week they will have figured out how to eat the hamster.

at least get another cat, and cal it the boys own. he can play with it and everything.

you'd be best off getting a kitten or puppy. if it's a puppy get a chihuahua; let the boy pick one as chihuahuas usually bond with only one person in the household and lets hope that person is your son!!!

7 yr olds hate it when a little rodent bites them and will hate him/her for the rest of their life!!!

    gd luck!!
hamsters are actually bad pets for children as they are nocturnal animals, I had one that died a few weeks ago, I had it for 6 months and spent more money on vets bills for her than I have for my two cats in four years!!!
The problem with getting a pet like an hamster for a young child like your son is that he will get bored of it as hamsters are nocturnal and if they are woken up during the day to be handling then they are more likely to bite because I must say that I wouldn't be too pleased if someone woke me up during my bed time. Your best off with getting something that isn't nocturnal.
The thing that you have to remember is that you are responsible for the pet not your son. Ask yourself would you like to own a hamster? If the answer is no, then you should not get a hamster. You cannot trust a child to be completely responsible for their pet.

I agree with some of the others who have posted as I think that rats are a much better small animal to own than hamsters. Hamsters are nocturnal and can be antisocial. I have always found that rats are often lively and alert and very friendly. My rats come when I call them and will gladly crawl onto me without having to be picked up.
hamster and 2 cats are not a good combo.

I have a seven year old and I wouldnt get him a pet his mind is on too many things at once.

Hamsters can bite and tend to be a bit flighty.

rats are a good choice, probably be you who has to clean it out and have you got anyone to look after if you go on holiday?

    I wouldnt x
i used to have hamsters when i was younger - i was very good and would clean them out, but my sister didnt and consequently my mum ended up cleaning out the cages each week. Could keep it in his room, but they will make a noise at night, either on a wheel or knawing the cage bars.

I always found hamsters not very friendly and sometimes they would bite if not handled daily. I had rats when i was older and found them to be much better pets - much more interactive, clever and friendlier. although they too need to be handled often, cleanded weekly, can be noisy at night and if female, like to be housed in pairs.
Yes and no. Dont give him full responsibility but if you tell him everyday to feed it and tell him when to clean it out there shouldnt be any major problems.

Good Luck I think a gerbil might be more entertaining but a hampster is still good.
my eldest kids are 8 and 10 and have convinced me to get many pets which they have been too young to b responsible to clean and look after them properly

weve got or had blue tongue lizards, cat, dog, budgie, hermit crabs, mice, guinea pigs,a dwarf and a lop eared rabbit, goldfish, and thats all in a space of 5 years, thankfully some died or we sold, the bestest pet you could buy is a baby budgie, a male is the best, they dont smell like rodents, and theyr more entertaining and clean, we still have ours and are so attatched to him, some of our other pets have been disasters

    the mice killed eachother

the lizards smelled soooo bad and hard to clean

    guinea pigs caused allergies

i hope u beleive me, go for a budgie, u dont want hamsters in a kids room, too unhygenic, unless u cleaned it well everyday

    good luck
Hamsters are cute and cuddly, however, if you're looking to get a pet with an excellent temperment, I would reccomend a guinea pig, hands down. Essentially, they're giant hamsters, maturing to roughly four pounds: the size of a dwarf rabbit or a small cat. They are every bit as easy to care for and EXCEPTIONALLY gentle (even unsocialized guinea pigs have to be squeezed, pinched, prodded or otherwise roughly provoked to get them to bite). Likewise, they're a little sturdier under a too-firm cuddle or inexperienced pat.

We bred guinea pigs at the kennel where I worked and in two years of feeding, cleaning, handling, and nail trimming, I was never bitten by babies or adults. My best friend also worked at a pet store for three years and she recommends this as a first pet too.

The downside to 'pigs is that they need larger cages. You would have to allocate a space about the size of a medium to large coffe table and it would be a flat, 'boring' cage without the colorful tunnels and hidy-holes of hamster pens. Their food is also slightly more varied (they should have fresh lettuce or spinach or parsley, etc) and their daily intake marginally higher.

Regardless, rodents are generally a little stinky if you only clean them once a week, so you may want to take that into account regarding where you'd like to put the cage.

    Good luck! Have fun!!
Whatever pet you decide on, I wouldn't recommend it living in his room. He should ideally be supervised at all times around it, so that he does not accidentally feed it something dangerous, or pick it up roughly causing distress and injury to the animal.

The only problem I can see with hamsters is they are small and sometimes speedy, so they may be hard for a 7 year old to hold. Guinea pigs are in my opinion the best 1st pet. They rarely bite, are generally more sedate and larger than hamsters, thus easier to hold, and they are not nocturnal, so they are active during the day, which might be better for a child. Good luck!
go with either a pair of rats or a guinea pig. they can be kept in the bedroom. mice are very fragile and easily scared, gerbils are very jumpy, hamsters tend to be in the habit of biting, and hegdge hogs are expensive and their quills are sharp. rabbits can be a good pet but can also be very finicky.
I agree with several of the above answers. Hamsters can be little escape artists, and can have mean dispositions. I had rats from the time I was nine all through my college career. All three of my rats learned their names, enjoyed water, learned simple tricks, and were extremely friendly. They would lick your fingers and even sometimes take a nap in your lap, almost like tiny little dogs. Celeste, the rat I had during college, would let herself out of her cage when she heard me coming home, and would climb up my pantleg to get to my shoulder. However, I never found evidence of her escaping any other time! Many pet stores sell rats, but many times it is for reptile food, and not companion animals. Therefore, you may want to ask to hold some babies (around 6 weeks old or so) and see what their disposition is like. A good choice is not going to be fearful and urinate and defecate on you. It will be very curious and even playful while showing no tendency to bite. If the store carries hairless rats, you may have a better bet of finding a pet. Most of the stores I've seen that carry these get them only as companions and not food. Best of luck on finding a pet!
I'd recommend a gerbil. They dont smell, they very rarely bite, they are clean, very sociable and friendly animals that love attention.
Well i would not get a hamster because there boring and they smell. I got a Gerbil and he is just one big ball of fun and they don't bite as much as hamster. Gerbils also live in burrows sow if you get one get a ten gallon tank. also get two because it is prooven that they live longer. also make sure he does not grab it by the tail because it will fall off.make sure that you get two that are living together. if you have any more Qs email me at mothergooseamy@aol.com
get him a small hamster but keep an eye on it and make sure he is taking good care of it
I think it would be a wonderful idea to get him a pet and for him to take on the responsibility of looking after an animal.

You were also spot on with your idea of getting him a hamster, they make wonderful pets. I also had them as pets when I was a child, and I have a cutie of a hamster now, and im a 29 year old married woman!!!!

I would suggest getting your son a male syrian hamster. They are the largest of the hamsters, but dont be put off by this. It actually makes them alot more laid back than other breeds and they dont move as quick. They love human company and coming out to play.

Good luck. I suspect your going to have one happy son in the next few weeks!!!

What is some good skin care advice to get clear skin?

i have been using Biore Foaming face wash every night and rubbing alcohol on it every morning and every night. and i use this treatment thing that if you rub it on the spot on ur face where you break out the most it dries it and prevents breakouts. but the thing is, every time i get rid of zits i get new ones. i is 14 and everyone i know has clear skin. what facewash do i need to buy? skin care treatment? what kind? does proActive work? any little techniques that really work? 10 points to the most informative and truthful one! thanx-----

~ClaireWhat is some good skin care advice to get clear skin?
ProActive is good, really, what works about it is the Benzoyl Peroxide, so if you can find a lotion with 2.5% (or so) benzoyl peroxide you can continue to use whatever face wash you like and just apply the lotion w/o having to buy the whole proactive line. What is some good skin care advice to get clear skin?
proactive!!! also drink alot of water!!
everyones skin is different, and you are at the age where you will get acne. but you are doing good so far. I recommend using a face mask atleast once a week too, and after you wash and scrub your face, use a moisturizer. and do not pop you pimples, it just makes things worse and you get scars. when you buy a face wash, use one thats specific to your needs. like if you have oily or dry skin, etc. keep your hands and nails clean for when you touch your face, but avoid touching it as much as possible because your hands are dirty. when you wash your face, use warm water to open up your pores, and when you rinse off, use cold water to close them. you can use makeup to cover up pimples. i use merle norman coverup. its expensive but the best coverup ever!!hope this helps!

    proactiv works
only way to control them is to cleanse, tone and moisturize and use a pimple or blemish cream. But what these do will only control your pimples and calm them down what you want is an acne treatment not a skin care system. Acne treatment is formulated to deep penetrate down into the pore so get all the bacteria, oil and other debris out so pores are clean. You breakout because of a clog pore.

The PROPIONIBACTERIUM ACNES ( the oxygen-fearing bacteria) feeds on the natural oils produced by your skin. The by-product of this bacteria causes an inflammation that clogs your pores. And once that happens, it doesn't take long for those clogged pores to burst and a pimple is born. One of the best ways to treat acne is to kill the bacteria that causes inflammation and clogged pores. Acne bacteria thrive in an environment without oxygen and die when exposed to oxygen. With the right combination of ingredients and molecules that are small enough to carry oxygen deep into your pores you can destroy the bacteria before they cause an acne. Prevention is the key to clear skin.

Where can I get legal advice for cheap, if not free in ohio?

my boyfriend was in jail for his divorce hearing. So because he wasnt there, she got everything she wanted. which was 100 dollars a week in child support and 50 dollars a week in spousal support. they were only married for 5 years, and just getting out of jail hes got no money no job and now alot of debt. I need to figure out a way to get this change.... any suggestions?Where can I get legal advice for cheap, if not free in ohio?
You can call around to local attorney's and ask if they do family/divorce law and see if they have free consultations (many do).

Schedule free consults with 2-3 attorney's (or more if you wish), present your circumstance, get their advice, and find out who is cheapest.

He should have filed something in the court, like a motion to continue stating that he was in jail and unable to attend the hearing, or he should have asked the jail to attend the court date.

It's $600/mo - to pay her that kind of $ (in court terms) he'd have to have income of $3,500-$5,000. Also, your state should have child support guidelines to follow based on income. Additionally, he'd need to file a modification of the divorce decree to get the agreement modified.

I have the common cold, any advice to get better before tomorrow?

I rarely get a cold, but right now I am very very sick. I've slept it off most of the time, but I just don't feel any better. Soup and warm showers are myths, because I've tried both and they simply don't make me feel better.

I'll admit I am a ';school girl'; and I do wish to go back to school tomorrow.

Any advice to cure the cold before tomorrow?I have the common cold, any advice to get better before tomorrow?
    Hi,

The best possible thing you can do is drink a lot of water. Ever wonder why the doctor always says drink plenty of fluids? It flushes your body of the toxins. Drink as much possible water as you can take in. Other than that take medicine. The medicine will hide your symptons so you feel better. It kind of tricks your brain into thinking that you are better, thus, making it fight off the cold way faster. It's kind of like the scientists that gave test subjects fake pills for their headaches telling them it was a new pill that gets rid of it very fast. Even though there was nothing in the pills, they all claimed it was so great and that it got rid of their headaches extremely fast. Haha, tricking the mind really works! SO, just drink A LOT of water, get your medicine, and try eating healthy foods. Tomatoes are known to help get over colds as well.

    P.S.

Don't work out. It will make you sweat and possibly relieve some of the toxins in your body, but after your done, instead of your body focusing on fighting your cold, it will dedicate time on repairing your muscles from the workout, recovering from it. And since it can't dedicate everything to recovering from the workout, your muscles in turn will feel very sore and you'll feel like you have the flu .I have the common cold, any advice to get better before tomorrow?
Don't mess with a bad cold! Sleep is not a myth for the common cold??? If you must go back to school tomorrow try to get a B12 shot from a doctor ASAP or worst case drink some red bull with lots of water. red bull has lots of B-12 and B-6 that will speed up the ammune system.
get some exercise, but don't hurt yourself. Try and sweat it out. If you still don't feel better make sure you get alot of sleep tonight two. Take some advil in the morning and you should be ok.

    Feel Better Soon!!
Visit an Ayurveda herb shop. They will recommend the best treatment for you. It may taste a bit weird, but it'll definitely work.

If that doesn't sound too amusing; drink loads of water, plenty of Vitamin C %26amp; the daily recommended dose of Zinc. This will help boost your immune system.
k i would just relax and stuff.. take cold medicine and you should be getting beetter
sweat it out,(exercise or run) and drink lots of water!!!!

Newbie to craft shows needs advice to get started?

I LOVE to make pillows. That's my thing. I want to start going to craft shows and don't know how to get started. And, would I get in trouble if I make and sell team prints like the Steelers or Nascar drivers? I heard I could get fined or something as I pay for the material and it's always deemed ';for personal use only and not to be resold';. Help?Newbie to craft shows needs advice to get started?
Reselling copyrighted or trademarked material is a serious offense and you could be fined for doing it. Even painting logos yourself is a trademark violation if you resell them. So you will have to stay away from the personal use only fabric.

If you still want to sell pillows, there are always small craft shows where you can rent a table for a few dollars a day. In my city many high schools and middle schools have craft shows in November and December. Many churches sponsor shows also. The shows that are cheaper to enter may have poor traffic, so ask craft shoppers where the crowds are.

  • I am going to my first horseshow and i'm really nervous. Can i get some advice on what i can do?

I am a gonna do hunters and equitation (flat and jumps). I also get really tired after the barn and i have a tight schedule espeacially on Sundays. And i need some advice on what i can do to help myself before and during the show to calm down. I especially am scared about remembering the courses even though im really good at that anyway.I am going to my first horseshow and i'm really nervous. Can i get some advice on what i can do?
Do the same things you would do before a lesson. If you change your routine completely, it's going to freak you out more. If you usually have lunch before your lesson, have lunch. If you usually don't, then don't. Do something you like to do about an hour before your class. I like to listen to music while I get ready... My team had a team song, so I like to listen to that. If you have a favorite book that will calm you down, read that. Call and talk to a friend on the phone. Play a card game with someone there. Anything that you really like to do. And make sure you're ready in plenty of time. My coach has this really annoying tendency to yell at me to get dressed when I still have a half hour before my class and that makes me really nervous. I've never been late... actually I'm always ready about 20 minutes early. But be sure to be ready so that you don't have someone hanging over you telling you to get ready faster or else you'll just get more nervous. Go over your course... look at it as soon as they post it and memorize it then and afterward tell it to someone. Repeat it at least once an hour and by the time you go in the ring you'll be confident that you know it. Tell it to someone right before you go in too, just to be sure. If you do that, there's nothing more that you can do. If you get really nervous in the ring, you might forget, but I don't think there's anything you can do about that. You shouldn't be nervous once you're in the ring anyway... you've been practicing and riding every week for at least a few months and it's no different than any other lesson that you've done... except you're in pretty clothes ;o)

Personally I have a sheet of pictures I like to look at before I go in the ring. I have a picture of my horse and (this sounds funny... laugh at me if you want to) 2 pictures of my coaches... see I used to go to a different school and that's where i learned to ride, so I'm particularly attached to them and I don't get to ride with them anymore, so I keep them with me in my pocket during shows. So if you have a nice picture of you and your horse that makes you happy, take it and look at it when you're waiting to go in the ring.

Some girls on my team also like a little music when they ride past, so if you have a cellphone that plays music or an ipod or something you can have someone hold it at the rail so you can hear it while you're in the ring.

Just be creative and do something you like. Ride like you always do and you'll ride your best. Of course you want to do well and win blue ribbons, but try and think that it doesn't matter. I was nervous my first year showing because I thought ribbons were the most important things in the world, but after that, I realized there was nothing special about showing and I quit being nervous and I ride better because of it. So if there's any way that you can think of it as any other lesson, then do it.

So be creative, do something fun, stay relaxed and remember it's just like any other day that you've ridden.

And most of all: GOOD LUCK! :o)I am going to my first horseshow and i'm really nervous. Can i get some advice on what i can do?

Think about why you are entering, what you want to achieve and always keep this at the forefront of your mind. Visualise a goal and aim for this, as it will build your confidence. Think about the way you are breathing. Deep, relaxing breaths help your muscles relax and make your movements consistent. Encourage and compliment yourself more. Criticising your mistakes less will help you to improve your confidence. Focus on the things you need to do in order to achieve the goal you are aiming for. Remember at the end of the day you are competing for yourself and should enjoy it. Concentrate on the horse and the ride rather than the show. Get help from your instructor so that you feel as though you are ready for what you are doing and that you are at the appropriate level. If helpers are overcrowding you explain to them that you need time to yourself to go over your dressage test or remember the jumping. To help calm your nerves, there are a number of Bach Flower Remedies you can try.

If all else fails, SMILE! I always enter the ring with a big grin on my face and it works!...
First of all, you have to remember that the key to success is being able to stay calm!Make sure to have all your gear ready the night before, this always helps me, because it means you don't have to worry about forgetting something on the day, and you don't have to rush in the morning of the show. Give plenty of time to get to the show too, again, so as you don't have to rush.walk your course two times, and watch someone else ride round it before you jump, then you'l be sure of the course. warm up over a fence, at least as big as the ones in the arena, then you can be sure that you're ready for the track..and finally, breathe!!!Good luck, I'm sure you'l be fine!
The best thing you can do is enter classes that are one level below what you're schooling at home. For instance, if you're schooling a horse over three foot fences at home, you only want to show him at 2'6'; or maybe 2'9';. That way you go into the ring knowing you can do what's in front of you because you've already done more than that in the past. As for remembering courses, if you're doing hunters in the lower levels, most of them are pretty basic. You'll probably see some variation on outside line, diagonal line, outside line, diagonal. When you do medal classes or jumpers, they tend to spice it up, but for the plain hunters classes its very basic.

A week or so before the show, make a list of everything you need to bring with you. Get it all together in one place where you won't forget it (preferably some sort of small tack trunk). Leaving yourself this much time allows you to go and buy anything you don't already have. By the night before the show, you should have everything you need. Double check it and make sure you really have everything. Go to sleep early. If you're trailering out the day of the show, you'll probably be up early. I remember those days with early classes where I was up at two, at the barn by two-thirty and on the road by three-fifteen to make it to the grounds by five-thirty because I had a seven or eight o'clock class. Getting up early goes with the territory, so really allot yourself enough time for sleep. You'll probably be thinking of the show for a good hour or two before falling asleep, so remember to factor that in to your sleep time. Set two alarms just in case, because otherwise I know I personally will wake up checking to make sure the alarm is set every thirty minutes or so.

At the show, remember that the most important thing is to have fun. Get there so that you have plenty of time to warm up in the ring and over fences. Don't rush yourself. If you have a tight schedule, you tend to get nervous and then your ride nervous. So always try to leave yourself plenty of time. Don't worry about making an error or not pinning, because that's not what matters. It's your first show, it will give you some experience, and you'll soon learn what to expect at other competitions. Have fun and good luck!
do not use caffeine, stay calm, drink little water, and concentrate on doing your best.and breathe.do not drink water an hour before you start except for sips and do not eat for at least two hours before.
just trust in you're horse and in you're self, if you don't trust in him/her theres no point on riding, you should enjoy the show, its one of my favorite things, I've been showing for 7 years now and I've learned that trust is everything, count you're steps when you go and se the course, breath and relax, you are showing because you know how to to it and believe you can, if you se the obstacles high just imagine that you've already jumped that high or higher. BUT Trust IN YOURSELF. AND GOOD LUCK

Can I get some advice on repairing vs. replacing my car, please?

I recently dropped almost eoght hundred dollars into repairing my car. Now it needs an expensive brake job and new tires. My car has over 130K on the odometer. I'm not sure I can afford a car payment right now. Should I pour more money into my car or try to find a newer ( used ) car?Can I get some advice on repairing vs. replacing my car, please?
Need more info on the car. What kind is it? Maybe people know more about one type or another better. Can I get some advice on repairing vs. replacing my car, please?
If you can only afford used cars it's probably not a bad idea to learn how to do as many repairs yourself as you can. Doing your own repairs can save you a ton of money.

You could buy a cheap second car as backup transportation while you work out how to repair the first one.

Then you can drive the first one while you repair the second one that broke down in the meantime...
Shop around for tyhe best prices on the brakes and the tires or find some good used tires if you want to keep the cost down...... Even putting some more money into the car is cheaper than a couple of payments on a new one!
Even if you are the first owner and took immaculate care of the car, the probability is that the transmission will need replacing around 150,000 miles if it's the original transmission. Sure, some transmissions might go over 200,000 miles, but not on average. Any front wheel drive remanufactured transmission installed will cost $2800 or so. So if you've taken good care of the car, I would roll the dice and keep it going until the transmission fails, and then send it to that junk yard in the sky. Of course it's possible you could have a major engine overheating episode and need a head gasket job which would also be expensive to repair in many cases. Recognize that tires and brakes are wear items that are needed eventually by every car, new or old.
it might be cheaper fixing Ur car
that all depends on the car,and how nice it is right now,and if that's all it needs done to it,if its going to be a money pit,you might want to consider trading it,but if its a really good car other than the things you mentioned it would be worth repairing, you can probably get that one fixed and drive it for a few more years, but that choice will be yours to make you didn't tell me what kind of car it is ,so i really have no idea what your working on,but any car if its not in too bad of shape is better than a car payment,i hate paying car payments,it always seems like there never going to get payed off,but you might want to fix it,and drive it some more, maybe later on a car payment wont look to bad, good luck on it,hope this helps.
So you've already spent eight hundred and are now faced with at least six hundred more? If you want to saddle yourself with additional debt, replace the car. Of course, there's no guarantee that the replacement will not need repairs...

I'd suggest that you have your present car thoroughly checked by a competent mechanic, fixing the things he suggest need fixing and hold onto it at least for another two or three years. 130K isn't a lot of miles, and chances are you won't find another car for a small sum of money as you're investing and have invested in your present vehicle. My vote, therefore..Repair it!
If it comes to brakes and tires. I would fix it, you already know what you have replaced. When you buy a used car you don't know whats going to happen. Hell the engine could blow up, and used cars don't come with a very good warranty.

Any advice to get into the acting business?

I am a 13 year old girl, light brown hair blue eyes, perfect age for the disney and nickloadian shows. I love acting, i can also sing. I have my moms support, but how would i find out about auditions? For anything, singing, acting with t.v., feature films, commercials, anything.Any advice to get into the acting business?
anybody could be acting but it depends on what you want and be specific. . for example - you might be happiest just doing local plays and not being paid for it. many people do this and love it. it builds confidence and you meet plenty of great people.

on the other hand, (and it sounds like it) do you want to be a star? and if so what type? movies? tv? theatre?

if thats the case you may be in for a long hard road. training is the key and accepting offers to start that may be less than ideal. you can gain experience and knowledge of the ins and outs of the industry plus solidify your intenions within the industry.

many famous actors start in theatre and work hard for many years to be 'overnight' successes.

good luck in your journey and i hope you find it.Any advice to get into the acting business?

Where can I get some good advice for my future?

I am looking for someone, or a service, who can help me decide my future. I am 20 years old and attend university with no clue of what I want to do with my life. I feel the course I am doing now is the wrong choice and that I would be better off doing something else with my life... whether it is at university at not, I do no know either.

So yeah, if anyone could help me by pointing me in the direction of someone I can talk to, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance to everyone who replies.Where can I get some good advice for my future?
Generally, I think it best to talk to the people we already know and admire. What about parents, grandparents, neighbours, friends' parents?

Who do you know who is content? How did they decide what to do...how did they get there?

Wise advice can come from unusual places so start talking to people and asking questions.

If your school has a counselor (most do I think) that would be a good place to begin.

Don't worry too much, though. You are young and will likely change direction several times in your life and be surprised by at least one of those directions. Some people know what they want to do, other's don't...it's OK. You'll figure it out.

Another good way to get experiences that you can use is to sign up with a temporary staffing company or two. They supply workers to companies who have projects or illnesses and need help getting work done but cannot afford to hire a permanent employee. It's a great way to use your current knowledge and gain more as well as getting a good look into the way various companies operate.

Remember, though, it's OK to be unsure at this time in your life. Take advantage of every opportunity, work hard and always do your best and keep asking yourself 'what do I like to do'? Nobody likes 100% of their job...you're very lucky if you like 50% of what you do so don't hold out for perfection.

The most important thing is to keep looking and keep working.

Best of luck to you!Where can I get some good advice for my future?
your school should offer career counseling - my son went to Duquesne and started as an education major - changed after 3 semesters to business - than after his 4th semester realized he didn't want to major in business - after I made it clear that he needed to focus on a direction he went to the school's career counseling folks who provided him with tests that indicated what he was best suited for

in his case - he was best suited for ';social science'; so he majored in criminal justice and is now a probation officer -

    good luck
Look in the mirror ask the questions you want to ask and be true to yourself.

Otherwise deside on what you want to do and aim for that
well all i can say is what do u enjoy in life doing because only u know what u want nobody can run your life for you
