Can I get some advice about business ethics?

I do free lance work for an internet company and was recently contacted by one of our clients requesting to work with me directly instead of through the company I free lance for. Working with me directly would save them money, and I would make more money from them than I am making now. But I would still free lance for the company I am with.

Is this ethical? I was contacted completely unsolicited by this client and I'm not under contract in any way with my current company. If I take this client away, my company loses thousands of dollars every month in fees. I don't want to burn my bridges, but I don't want to lose this client. What should I do? I'm new at this self-employed thing. Can I get some advice about business ethics?
At least you stopped to consider whether or not you should do this or not. I think that was a good choice, and I think this is a very legitimate question. I agree with most of what I've read, but I'd like to add this: if you start taking on one client, where will it stop? What if another one asks you to do some work for them? In principle, you are breaking rank with your company by going down this road, which isn't always a bad thing, and could be a good career move. In essence, that might be the start up of your own one-woman company.

Now, I don't know if that's what you want, and if you don't feel ready to start up your own company, I don't think you should. But if it is something you'd like to do, it's best that you be open and honest about it. Give it some thought, but if you feel like you ought to be loyal to your company, that's what you should go with. One client isn't worth breaking ties with your employer--even though you are freelance--unless it's a career move you feel is best for you at this time. Can I get some advice about business ethics?
Business ethics dictates you maintain the current relationship with the company you work for and explain to the client that it is unethical to by-pass the current situation. If you were to take them on as a client, which you can do since your contract does not state otherwise, but your current company finds out, you will lose them as a client.

You can propose to do some small project for the client that it outside the normal scope of what you're doing on the free lance side for the company you work for. Then there would be no conflict.

Think about how you would feel if you were the company that had someone working for you free lance and found that they stole a client from you. How would you feel???
Your gut feel is right. It is unethical, but whether it's legal or not depends on your contract with your co., if you did sign one. If not, you'll have to weigh the pros and cons. How many free-lance jobs have you gotten through this co. and has it been fair to you all this time? If it has been giving you lots of clients to work on, you have to be prepared to lose all of them as soon as it finds out you've bypassed it and gone to work directly with this one client. So your income will be reduced to just this one client. Who knows how much longer this client will use your services? If you do intend to take the risk, you should cover yourself by obtaining some assurance from this client of how much longer they will be using you or perhaps even make you a permanent staff. But in any case, be prepared for your co. to feel sore about your betrayal or under-handedness. Think it over. Ultimately, it's your call.

Any advice to get the baby to move on an ultrasound?

I have a doctors appointment in about an hour and I get to find out the sex. But I was wondering if anyone had any tricks to get the baby to move so that way I can get a good picture?

Any tips or advice please!

Thanks!Any advice to get the baby to move on an ultrasound?
ORANGE JUICE will get it moving! Don't drink anything dark like coffee...it makes it look cloudy. GOOD LUCK!Any advice to get the baby to move on an ultrasound?
Lol, I just found out about my daughter and I was given so much advice! Here's some to make your little one move around:

-Drink a soda or OJ before you go

-Eating a candy bar doesn't hurt either

-Drink lots of water and try not to go to the bathroom (your bladder pushes the baby up near the uterine wall closer to the ultrasound wand)

-Press on your stomach where you think he/she is and he/she will move to respond to the pressure.

Otherwise, the ultrasound tech will poke and prod and try to get the baby to move that way. Not painful, but definitely not the most comfortable thing you will ever do.
Eating something sweet or drink some caffeine. I wasn't even thinking about this when I had my 20 week ultrasound and I drank a Sierra Mist beforehand...she was moving all over the place! She flipped completely over 3 times! But she's just a pretty active little one. =)

Good luck and don't worry about them not being able to see. I was concerned too, but my tech was able to tell immediately and I have heard that even if it's difficult at first, most techs will keep trying until they figure it out.
Hey there :) I have a baby boy due in September. Congratulations! Read this article:

It tells you how to get your baby moving for the ultrasound! Good luck!
yes make sure to eat about 10 minutes before you go in...like a cookie or something sweet. My ultrasound tech told me that and gave me a cookie to get my daughter to move.
lol. drink mountain dew or sweet tea. i had that for lunch before one of my ultra sounds and he would not stay still. he was active through the whole thing. the doc had a hard time measuring him.

Go to dpreview.com and go to the buying guide. You can select the features option and select the features that are important to you, MP count, aperture, shutter speed, focal length range, whatever is important and then compare the models that fit your criteria.

It will bring up the models that are available and then you just have to compare them to see which ones are in your price range. Easy.Could I get some advice on Digital Cameras?

Did you ever get advice from your therapist/counseler?

like leaving a marriage only to regret it highly later on?

What happened exactly and why do you feel this way?Did you ever get advice from your therapist/counseler?
I'm a counselor and I really agree with the poster who stated in her experience counselors only ask ';and how do you feel about that?'; I cannot believe how many counselors use that ineffective and annoying use of questions and think they might be helping people!

I believe counseling should be about giving people skills so their lives improve. And hopefully I provide some insight so that problems can be solved and even avoided.

I don't give advice to about leaving a marriage--I help the client draw up pros and cons of staying in a relationship, but I don't try to make up their minds.

Here is my exception: Unless their safety is at risk, then I will help the client set up a safety plan.

!Did you ever get advice from your therapist/counseler?
no... it would ultimately be up to my conscience but i am welcome to them giving advice to me i did'nt ask for other people do it and sometimes their advice really helps
I listen to DR. Laura and just listening has helped my marriage alot and I read her books
no i dont get advice like that because i lay it out with my councelor that this is what i want and this is what i want to work for. if you are getting advice for something you dont want then you are probably not completely honest with your therapist
    I WISH!!

in my experience, therapists just say stuff like ';how does that make you feel?'; and ';what do YOU think you should do?';.

therapists are a waste of money.
Thats why us humans go to therapists is to get advice is it not?....I would feel highly agitated if I took advice from a therapist and regretted it later on by life is like that our futures are mapped out...haha...Thats why I dont go to counsellors!! Your not happy...try dating and getting out with friends or telling this person how you feel..you will feel better for sure ;) best o luck

Is it impossible for a guy to find a girl to get advice not sex on crossdressing and have fun with it together

i don't know if anyone else has tried looking for this but it's very difficult to find girl who will allow you to crossdress with her for fun. Just as friends. I would like to know if this is because i'm just not looking in the right places or if there are just no girls that would like to do this with me.Is it impossible for a guy to find a girl to get advice not sex on crossdressing and have fun with it together
Maybe you should let the girl find you. My gf introduced me to crossdressing before I knew that I was interested. But once I tried it, I loved it. Now I am doing it more and more frequently (with her encouragement). I think it is just a matter of luck in finding the right girl.Is it impossible for a guy to find a girl to get advice not sex on crossdressing and have fun with it together
It's how you are going to find someone. There are clubs, and groups of people where you could find women who would help. Personally I inhabit the Goth scene, and while I don't personally crossdress, I have friends who do, and within this scene its very common.
Your looking in the wrong places. I'd help you, sure, if we knew each other or something. Sometimes other girls are embarrassed to help, because they think they'll be made fun of for helping a cross dresser.
you just have to keep looking, there are women who don't have a problem with having crossdressers for friends, but they are hard to find.I think that women have a problem with it because they feel jealous
hey if you ok with other crossdressers having fun with you thats cool too, coz i dont mind, and i'm a guy whose looking for the same thing u are
i wouldn't mind answering your question, just reword it cause i really dont understand it
I found as I came out as a trans-gender, just asking fellow female workers or store employees where I shopped they were very willing to help me look my best and figure things out. As far as someone to go out dressed with, I'm sure you have an opened minded friend that would go along with it with you. Maybe a trip to a local LBGT bar might be a great chance to break that friend in.

    3. Activities: What do people in India like to do for fun?

    4. Politically Correct: What topics are not acceptable to talk about in business or friendship relationships?

    5. Culture: For my new friends that are native of India, what is your favorite aspect about your culture?

Thank you for your help!American moving to New Delhi, India: any locals I can get advice from?
Dont Shout at the INDIANS using the word Indian (ex. U bloody Indian).

Then dont talk bad about the Hindu GODS because delhi is in north India.

Avoid dressing how U dress in america U can wear churidhar or dress like that if U R a girl or else Its no lot of different but dress decently.

U can buy any gifts for them.

Always avoid sex in any form and avoid dressing indescently because even talking of sex makes U to look like an indecsent for women it was very risky.

Never ever talk about the politics in public either in office or home where U live but with the person whom U know.

Cricket is the most lovable game for us and be carefull dont follow U R american culture here its not good it will be very bad as india as concerned dont dress badly even at home this will affect U R image.

As of now we start following the western culture always we dress covering the body full.

Dont show the paper money in public how much U have its for the safety purpose.American moving to New Delhi, India: any locals I can get advice from?
SHAHAZAD SHAIKH, who lives in India, has posted a question in ';etiquette'; and I'm sure he will be happy to answer your questions.
First of all get ready to bear the heat. Delhi gets very hot in the summer. You are probably not used to that kind of heat. Dress very conservative if you are a woman if you don't want to attract unnecessary attention. stay reserved and don't get overly friendly with strangers. Be extremely careful about water and food, always use packaged mineral water or you might get the ';Delhi Belly';!

In India living with the family is the norm. Don't mock their family values, religious or cultural practices. Be very very patient because Delhi traffic will test your patience to hell and back. If you are accompanied by partner, public display of affection is frowned upon. Keep the kissing etc inside your residence away from public view!

Save your money, don't bother with gifts, if you do intend to gift something to someone, purchase it from India, everything is available there. Activities young people enjoy are spending time with family, partying, sports, Indian and american movies etc. Being politically correct depends on the situation at hand so i cannot comment intelligently on the things you may or may not face. I can only say people in general are very open and helpful. Always relate to the people you meet as individuals, not judging them with any preconceived notions of them and their culture that people might have told you about them. This advice holds good whereever you go around the world. There are good and bad people everywhere.

My favorite aspect of the indian culture is the family values. Good luck and hope you enjoy your time in India.
hey we are as simple as water,

    as fresh as air,

    as warm as fire.

so relax and enjoy, u will know us better in few weeks.
i am an indian and i do not totally agree with the first answer to your question about too much pride etc..

you may go to any country, its natives will definately not humour criticism about their way of life.

    that said -l

rude things-- do not be too casual in your first meeting with friends or their families, a little formal bahaviour would be more acceptable. handshake is not the best way of greeting especially females. avoid sitting in a way that sole of your shoe in visible to person sitting in front of you.

politically correct--- avoid two big troubles- politics both national and international and religion %26amp; cultural practices.

favourite aspect of culture-- festivals are a big way to celebrate and unwind.

activities---movies and cricket are national passtimes.

if in a big city, you may find surprising number of people heading towards pubs and discos.
I am not indian but I can say you.

They will talk about lots of about there pirde, culture and india so much.

but dont angree with them.they will always talking talking talking.

Can I talk to a lawyer and get legal advice for free?

Can I just open the yellow pages and talk to a lawyer? Can I talk to a lawyer and get legal advice for free?
No. You can make an appointment to meet with a lawyer. Many will see you for free for the first appointment. You will be informed of your options but you won't get free advice. Can I talk to a lawyer and get legal advice for free?
depends on how much advice you're asking for.
It depends if the lawyer is willing to listen. If you have a clear cut personal injury matter where another person is legally liable for your damages, he will be happy to listen to you. The legal advice is beside the point. If the lawyer likes your case, the lawyer will take it on a contingency basis, you pay nothing until the matter is settled, and then the lawyer takes 30% to 40% of the money you recover.

If, on the other hand, you have a legal question, I do not believe any lawyer anywhere would give you free legal advice. You would pay by the hour. There are attorneys that do pro bono (for free) work, but again, it depends on your case.
Nope, when you call you will get a secretary who will schedule an appointment for you.
    you can

but some might req you to come into the office.
Why would you? can I open the yellow pages and get a plumber to fix my pipes or a dentist to do my teeth for free? You want free, you need to apply for legal aid.
Most attorneys will offer you a free consultation and in most cases they may work with you in regards to payment
    Yes
the first words out of your mouth should be that question ,when you call his office,
...nothin is free in this world....but mayb!
I kind of wish I could get a plumber on a sliding fee scale. Instead I assume I should get the crappy one for a ';discounted'; price. I would call the courthouse and see what information I could from the clerk or ask that person if they could connect me to the D.A.'s office for further assistance. But I don't know?

How do i get free advice on taking a civil suit against someone over a dog bite?

need to find out how to take acivl suit against someone and the leagal cost of doing soHow do i get free advice on taking a civil suit against someone over a dog bite?
There's a lot more information that needs to be said in order to provide you with ANY sort of answer.

Why did the dog bite, what were the circumstances, etc. You need to call your lawyer, your first step is calling animal control to report the bite though. How do i get free advice on taking a civil suit against someone over a dog bite?
call your local attorney with the biggest highway poster and you propbably won't have to give a dime...although I don't think you should overstep what the damage was. If there are scars on your face that will be horrible the rest of your life get some compensation but a puncture or four on your leg where the bike pedals have tore in a couple times is far less. Are you looking to get rich because ...
You should be able to file a small claims case.

If your damages are under $5000 (most states). You should be able to go online or call the Clerk of Court in the county where you live and ask for small claims. See if they have standard complaint, summons forms and you will have to get a Sheriff to serve your summons. It will cost you money to file the case and to serve the summons. The Clerk of Court should be able to help you will all your questions.

For your case you will need to keep a timeline of events. All your medical bills, affidavits from witnesses who saw you get biten and/or verification of days miss from work.

    Hope this helps.
    Nesty layers ain't cheep.
You need to call the Bar Association in your County for help and be able to provide documentation that you're an indigent, meaning you do not have the means to foot the bill for filing fees, attorney's fees, court reporter fees, etc. and otherwise a low income family. A lot of people want free legal services and can well able afford the service ... lawyers have families, mortgages, car payments, student loans, etc., so be prepared to provide proof that you can't afford the service. Good luck.

What is the best tip or advice to get any type of job?

I want any advice and tips to get any type of job. Can you give me basic tips to get a job. What type of first priority qualities should a candidate have? What is the best tip or advice to get any type of job?
Dress like you would for your interview when you go apply for a job. You never know who will see you, or if you will have an on-the-spot interview. Don't show tattoos or piercings other then the ears. No weird hair styles or hair colors. Don't chew gum or wear a hat to your interview. Make sure you always have your resume and reference page available. Arrive about five minutes early to the interview. More then five minutes and you are usually just an annoying inconvenience. Right on time and they have already started wondering if you are going to show up. If the application is a paper Application make sure you use NEAT legible handwriting. If the application is on the computer ensure that you use proper punctuation. All caps on your name is usually a bad sign.... Ensure that you feel out all applications completely. Do not write, ';See Resume.'; Potential employers are looking for how much time you spend at one job. If you have multiple jobs that only lasted a couple months it is a bad sign unless they were seasonal or something. Make sure you don't give off to much of a smell...whether it is lack of shower or to much cologne. Use proper English when speaking to perspective employers- not slang or jargon. What is the best tip or advice to get any type of job?
wear business attire to your interview and always be as honest as possible,

Any training advice to get a dog to stop barking at visitors?

He is a sweet little dachshund that thinks he's a guard dog, when he someone comes over to visit he barks and barks at them. Any advice to get him to stop?Any training advice to get a dog to stop barking at visitors?
Put a note on your door:

Dog in training, please ignore the dog.

Then when the dog is calm, when they have been there for a few minutes then the visitors can pet him. Works for my Corgi!Any training advice to get a dog to stop barking at visitors?
When you see your dog barking excessively at visitors we often find ourselves disciplining them rather than praising quiet behaviour. We are also often inconsistent in when we apply this discipline. Consequently our dogs do not develop any learned behaviour around when and where barking is allowed. Here are a few tips on training your dog to be quiet:

Each time your dog barks at a passer-by, after several barks, praise your dog for informing you, then gently ask him or her to be QUIET. If they remain quiet for a few seconds, praise them. You may need to show them a very tasty titbit initially to help them concentrate on you and calm down. Give them the titbit the second they are quiet and slowly increase the amount of time they have to be quiet before giving them the titbit.

If they continue to bark, raise your voice or use body language to strengthen the command, but praise them as soon as they are quiet.

It will take a few sessions (depending on the number of visitors you get!) but, over time, build up the duration of time you expect them to be quiet. You might find it useful to count out the seconds as an added means to hold your dog's attention away from the passer-by.

Always be consistent- many attempts to train a dog to be quiet fail through inconsistency.

NEVER reprimand dog barking. Only reprimand them for disobeying your command to be quiet. But the second they obey, praise them warmly.
well being a guard dog is actually good, because if there's any unwelcome vistor you will know.

if you want them there, tell him no and make him lay down on his bed or blanket or just a special spot. reward him with a treat or a ';good dog'; if he does this. he will get the picture :)

    happy holidays!
Well, you have a great breed of dog and the issue you describe is common for them as they are very territorial and think they are much larger than they are. A squirt bottle or a loud horn may do the trick though!
Heres what I did. instead of spanking or yelling at him like others suggested, i got a squirt bottle with water in it, and squarted him on the nose when he barked. It actually worked
Get a suitable cage when visitors come lock him up. It sounds horrible but it's the easy way. Or just train it. Hope it works! ^^
Dachshund's are the coolest dogs to me.
put a bark collar on him. he will learn quickly and it doesn't harm him.

I just got on with a parts store as a parts specialist. I'm training right now to get ready for the new store they are opening up in my town. When it opens they are going to promote either myself or this other girl. She's trained a week longer than I have, but she's really quiet and only does something when she's told to. I, on the other hand, have been keeping myself busy because I really want this promotion. Work hard. Ask meaningful questions. Show your skills at dealing with customers and parts knowledge. Let them know you would really like the promotion.

Can I get some advice from the ladies please?

Has any of you ever been in a relationship with a guy that is just so self centered? It's getting to the point where I really don't enjoy being around him. He is really vulgar and uses all sorts of profanity and I asked him to stop saying it around me but he just keeps it up. He says I am trying to change him. I don't look at it that way, I see it as having some respect for your girlfriend when your around her. Does anyone think I am in the wrong here? Any suggestions on what else I can do? I've had it.Can I get some advice from the ladies please?
A song springs to mind that you might want to sing to him ';Hit the road Jack and don't you come back no more, no more, no more, no more!

He clearly couldn't care one iota about you. I had a man like that and I kicked him to the curb pretty fast, then low and behold a month later I met my partner of 2 and a half years :)

P.S When they only think of themselves they are not capable of loving you.Can I get some advice from the ladies please?
Had the exact same situation last year, insisted I was changing him aswell.

I was only trying to make him tolerable, so I could still care about him. If he doesn't care about cutting out the vulgar stuff and all that and you've asked him, then he doesn't care about you enough for you to waste your time with him.

It still would have given him time to do that with his friends, if he doesnt do that small sacrifice for you, it's not worth the pain.
Sorry i know im a dude but that might actually help cause im kinda girly ^-^ but no your not trying to change him your just tellin him to have some respect and self controle and if it keeps up and you dont really like bein with him then take a break from the relationship, if he doesnt immediately start apologizing or trying harder then hes a douche and should look for someone else. Seriously dont be one of those girls that stays with him just because you think you love each other.
I don't mean to agree with him but it sounds like you are trying to change him. If he hasn't stopped doing it by now he's not gonna stop. Your not wrong for trying to teach him some respect but it sounds like he doesn't care what you think. He obviously needs some1 from the trailer part with a truckers mouth. Maybe when he looses you he will realize he needs to wash out his potty mouth and start respecting your wishes of not wanting to listening to the F word every 5seconds. if he says he's not gonna change then either deal with it or find some1 else. Good luck
nah you are totally in your rights to ask a guy to stop using profanities or any other words/actions you are not comfortable with. Any relationship is about sacrifice, and if he has to sacrifice he's use of certain words in order to make your relationship work, then I don't think it's too much to ask.

    Good luck =D
Oh my dear you are with the wrong person. I was like you once. Then I finally decided to leave him. He was just so selfish, uses foul languages and very disorganized. I told him once that i don't like all those stuffs he does but then he said the same thing as your BF said so i prefer to let him go.
I have a suggestion. Go to a nice restuarant, get up and act like ur going to ladies bathroom, and sneak out the back door. Make sure u have the car keys. spend the night at a nice hotel and have a glass of champagne and LOL ur *** off in kudos to urself. Meet some gal pals there and have a few laughs at that jerks expense. U will never forget it. Neither will he! did I mention also, to make sure he forgot his wallet. this will really tick him off, not to mention embarass himself.
You're right, he doesn't respect you or your relationship or he would at least tone the language down around you.

Being self centered and vulgar are sure signs of someone who needs to grow up.

I think you should end the relationship at least until he grows up.
If he cant understand that you would like some respect hun he is not worth your time...trust me I date this guy for a week and we went out to eat the whole time he talked about himself..i didnt even get a word in...in my opinion find someone else..this guy sounds like a jerk
Break up with him if he isn't willing to treat you with respect and act like a gentleman. If he doesn't give you what you need out of a relationship, why waste your time? He sounds like more work than he's worth.
get out of it now if you have had it its time to hasta la vista baby. i mean it its all in fun but if you do nothing about your own happiness that is exactly what you will get NOTHING. move on
no I haven't but based on the questions you have asked about him, he sounds like a jerk and he won't change. I think it's time to move on
confront him about it! the only other thing you can do is warn him if he doesnt stop its over!
i think your absolutley right ; have a calm talk with him and tell him how you feel if he continues and his ';ego'; takes over leave him.

Could I get some advice on an mp3 purchase?

I want it to be a flash memory mp3 player, with a random play function, and no need for software to transfer songs / files to it (i.e. drag and drop). There are just too many out there and no simple search methods without going through epinions to find a good one.Could I get some advice on an mp3 purchase?
Just go to best buy or radio shack and get a small 2gb mp3. U have the choice of picking a brand. all i know is that if u want to spend less money for a good product get a scan disk. they r good and they r way cheaper than an ipod. U dont need any software for ur computer either. its simple to use.

contact info is on the bottom of the siteWhere could i go to get breastfeeding advice?
i dont know where you live but in australia we have the australian breastfeeding association and you can email them any question you have and they will write back within 48hrs with an answer for you, they have women volenteers who write them and they are so encouraging. make sure you tell them lots of info about you and your baby so they can give you the best advice relating to you.
My friend wanted to breastfeed her adopted baby and she was told to use the breast pump for 15 minutes every 2 or 3 hours. She had never had a baby, but it worked. She said it's very, very painful though (dry pumping would be).

You could also let your baby suck as much as possible. If she's still very small, she will want to suck a lot anyway.

A lactation consultant can help, but they are very expensive. However, if you are in the U.S., you could call your local W.I.C. office. They usually have a lactation consultant who will give you advice free of charge. I don't think you have to be on W.I.C. to call them. Also, the website below has free online sessions with lactation consultants.

    Good luck.

How can I get information about Legal Advice for marriage and legal advice for getting her american resident?

He was living with a female along time ago and got her pregnant she was messing with another guy and does why he got seperated from her. He won the case of the girl, The girl lives with her mom monday through friday mornings and her dad have the girl on the weekends. Does one and the other one is that he is recident and want to know if getting marry would affect him from getting his American recident. My boyfriend and I are getting marry on July 14, 2006. But, before we get marry we want to know what can we do or the steps to follow. How can I get information about Legal Advice for marriage and legal advice for getting her american resident?
First, if you are a USC or Lawful Permanent Resident (LPR) you can apply for him as your husband and he can ';fix his papers'; while in the U.S., only if he entered on some legal status before (for example, came in on a tourist visa, student visa, work visa).

If he came in illegally, and there is no pre-existing petition already filed for him by another family member (USC parent/child over 21; USC/LPR ex-spouse; USC sibling that predated April 24, 2001), then he CANNOT ';fix his papers'; that is, get his green card, while in the U.S. There will come a time when he will have to depart the U.S. and get an immigrant visa from the US Consulate in his home country.

The process is long, convuluted and complicated, especially for those who have any period of time spent in the U.S. illegally.

You must consult an attorney or find a local legal aid office or law school clinic to help you. If you tell me where you are, I can probably point you in the right direction: city %26amp; state.

Do not try to do it yourself, it sounds like your situation is a bit complicated. How can I get information about Legal Advice for marriage and legal advice for getting her american resident?
I am in a Peru/American Marriage for the last thirty years, and we have adviced many to get legal assistance. If you are in a major city find a non-profit that specializes in immigration and citizenship issues. Or use the computer for the same issue, but be careful in any case. Don't give your private information out to anyone until they prove who they are with proper identification. And if there is an illegal issue, then you are in bad shape and probable need to start over. (See answer above)

Find a ethnic lawyer and ask for a meeting to talk about the situation and the resolution. You have to know where you stand before you deal with the government. Look for people in the same situation. Good luck!
Try asking an Immigration lawyer they would be able to orient you towards this matter

Who would you rather get relationship advice from?

Would you rather take advice from someone who has ';been around the block'; and perhaps been married a few times and made their mistakes but has finally gotten it right or would you rather get advice from someone who has been only with one other person and has been married for a long time? Which advice would carry more weight in your eyes?

Who would you rather get relationship advice from?
One person that has been married for a long time.

And I NEVER bother with anyones answer where they are like 25 years old and been married for like two years.......I don't think most people have a clue until they are at least 30.........that's just me.....Who would you rather get relationship advice from?
I don't think you have to get your advice from someone who has the perfect life now. Bad stories and situations can be quite eye opening! The person who's been married several times might have finally just settled for the next one who came along. And the person married for years may have just gotten lucky enough to meet someone very compatible with them. I would rather have advice from people who care about me, whether happily involved or miserably married. I think that's what's important.
It depends on what relationship advice you are seeking. The one who's been married for ages would be good for advice on say how to get through a rocky period in a long term committed relationship. The one who's been around the block might be better to consult on things like, when to give up and break up and how to choose from prospective new lovers.
The person with the long, healthy relationship. Clearly, they know how to create success and happiness with their partner. The other person, how can you even guarantee they have ';finally gotten it right'; - what if it is just a matter of time before their next divorce? Their track record shows that they might have a few things that they don't understand about making a relationship work.
Dr. Phil: married and divorced wife beater

    Dr. Laura: divorced adulteress

Barbara DeAngelis: divorced 5 times, including from the 'Mars/Venus' guy

    Mars/Venus guy: divorced

It's pretty clear who peolpe listen to.

certainly not those who have successful lasting happy relationships.

I would like to get advice from anyone who has reasonable ideas, but experience counts a lot. If someone has been married twice...does not make them an expert...sometimes it makes them worse. Sometimes, the subject will really grab a person's attention and they will give you great advice. God bless us all
The best advice will come from the 2 that are in the relationship.

    Talk things over.

    Discuss your feelings

    Find compromises if you can

What works for some couples may not work for you, it's best to communicate with your partner first

Well honestly I would listen to both walks of life. Hearing each one's advice would be very interesting. You have to take peoples advice very lightly. Just listen to what they both have to say and filter it the best way that fits your situation. gl !
I'd be open to listening to both but I'd say the person married one time has honored their commitments and vows. The one who's been married a few times didn't.
The person who has been around the block they have more experience and aren't wearing rose colored glasses.
You have the two best advice givers on yahoo on this thread in Valerie and Anji i will take their advice any day.
    The experienced one.
I would chose the person who learned how to make it right the first time.
Some one like my dad who has been around the block.

    I love Miss Valerie too.
Someone who had been married to one person
person who has been married a long time.

I want to buy a new game system but have no idea what is the best one to get...Advice?

My only game ststem I ever had was origional nintendo,so I love Mario games. Donkey Kong and stuff like that.I want to buy a new game system but have no idea what is the best one to get...Advice?
the ps3 is expensive and it is not set up as good as the xbox 360 and the xbox 360 is the cheapest new game system out i have the xbox 360 and i think it is better than the wii and the ps3I want to buy a new game system but have no idea what is the best one to get...Advice?
If those are the games you do enjoy, you would be more of a Casual Gamer... Go get the Wii, plenty of Mario games, and Mario Galaxy 2 coming out sometime soon.

The Xbox 360 and the PS3 are both systems that you would end wanting to play online to get the full experience of it... And going online has its shares of Glitchers, 11 year olds who sit around acting like they are god-like over the headset while they annoy you with they're squeaky voices, MLG obsessed noobs who will team kill you for a Shotty Sniper set up, people who will make fun of you if your not as good as them, and even people who have zero life whatsoever and piss you off, if all your trying to do is have a good time.
The Wii is more of a family friendly system, meant for younger gamers. A lot of the games seem like dumbed down mini games, like you might find in the Mario Party series (I love Mario party. Don't get me wrong!). I wouldn't recommend it if you're older than 16. Wii Fit is kinda cool though, for any adults who would like to shed a few pounds.

The Xbox 360 is good for anyone older than 16. If you want a really quality online experience (for a monthly fee) with a great selection of games to choose from, go with this one. The game selection is more mature than the Wii, and the graphics trump it as well. Highly recommended for casual and hardcore gamers alike. (Yes, I am a bit biased. I can't help it lol. I love my 360!)

The PS3 is for people who like gadgets. Most people who buy it, care more about the Blue-Ray, than anything else. It does have some amazing games, but the selection is much smaller than the other two systems. It also has a free online experience, something that the Xbox 360 lacks. However, the phrase 'you get what you pay for' rings true in this case. The customer service and the overall online experience is just plain better on the 360.

    My choice - Xbox 360
well my best advice is the wii or play station 3 i have every game system you can think of but the wii is the best
mayb get a nintendo ds there are a lot of mario games for that and also the wii thoose two systems probably have the most mario games and they have a lot of other games too
    For you, Wii.

For most hardcore gamers, Xbox 360.

    For underdog lovers, PS3.
    In order, Wii %26gt; Xbox 360 %26gt; PS3.

The Wii has alot of the old retro games that you've probably played.
my sisters just got a wii and they have alot of the old mario games.
    wii
i would recommend u for playstaion 3 even xbox 360 is good .

  • Could I please get some advice on diatomaceous earth pool filters?

Specifically, I was told that because it filters far more efficiently than my current fan filter, that I would be able to run the filter far less. My pool is between 12-15,000 gallons. My pump is 1 1/2 hp (can't tell you what the through put on it is). My goal: run my filter less by 25-40% while maintaining the current water quality. Thank you.Could I please get some advice on diatomaceous earth pool filters?
DE does filter down to the micron level but a large 320-420 sqft cartridge filter (420 min) will do almost as good a job but more than make up for it in ease of maintenance, less energy consumed and water wasted.

If you are into aquariums a DE filter will make the water almost transparent, just like the glass you are looking through. If you don't have glass on your pool then you do not need DE!

My advice is to you to invest in a flow gauge. When correctly installed on your Equipment you can see what your gallons per minute are and use that to calculate how many hours your pump needs to operate to turn your water over once per day. Use this as a starting point since your pool may need more hours in the summer time.

Best pump on the market is a pentair intelliflow, 4 variable speeds 4x160 but if you don't have a spa you really only need the smaller pump to do a pool. With it you can set your flow to 15 gpm and run your 15,000 gallon pool pump 16.667 hours per day. Sounds like a lot of money but at that flow the 3hp version is only drawing 270 watts and the smaller version will be much less.

You're welcome!!Could I please get some advice on diatomaceous earth pool filters?
i own a pool company a d e filter is the best filter on the market.it will filter a lot better because this is what is used to coat the grids inside the tank.however, every time you backwash the filter you have to add new de to grids. i do recommend that you run filter at least eight (8) hours a day for best results
I have used the earth filter which is very good because it is capable of filtering much finer particles, I have also used sand filters with good results having proper p.h. and chlorine stabilizer are all important for keeping a clean clear pool.
What you save in energy you will waste in the DE powder.

Any tips/advice to get in Julliard or RADA for an aspiring 14 yr old?

I'm 14 and I want to study drama in a good art school. My top choices Julliard or RADA but any drama school is okay with me. Any tips/advice to get in a good drama school?Any tips/advice to get in Julliard or RADA for an aspiring 14 yr old?
They will want you to audition for them and some auditions for these schools last a few hours, with you being observed in movement classes as well as doing your monologue(s). Learn all you can while you have the time. The competition is tough, but never think you can't do it. Also, many drama schools have summer programs. Go attend one. Read. Dance. Act. Sing. Rehearse monologues from plays which you have read. Spend a lot of time at the library in the theatre section. Stretch every day. And remember to breathe and find the time to relax and daydream. It's a lot. But so is the life you are choosing. Break a Leg!Any tips/advice to get in Julliard or RADA for an aspiring 14 yr old?

Read this article:

    http://www.ehow.com/how_5084380_prepare-鈥?/a>

It tells you how to get your baby moving for the ultrasound! Good luck!
yes make sure to eat about 10 minutes before you go in...like a cookie or something sweet. My ultrasound tech told me that and gave me a cookie to get my daughter to move.
lol. drink mountain dew or sweet tea. i had that for lunch before one of my ultra sounds and he would not stay still. he was active through the whole thing. the doc had a hard time measuring him.

  • American moving to New Delhi, India: any locals I can get advice from?

    1. Things that are rude to do: what are they so I do not disrespect some one?

    2. Gifts to bring new friends in India: What is a good gift to present to new friends/collegues that are from India?

Are there any cool places for teens to chat and get advice?

Can I talk to a lawyer and get legal advice for free?

Can I just open the yellow pages and talk to a lawyer? Can I talk to a lawyer and get legal advice for free?
Why would you? can I open the yellow pages and get a plumber to fix my pipes or a dentist to do my teeth for free? You want free, you need to apply for legal aid.Can I talk to a lawyer and get legal advice for free?
    Yes
It depends if the lawyer is willing to listen. If you have a clear cut personal injury matter where another person is legally liable for your damages, he will be happy to listen to you. The legal advice is beside the point. If the lawyer likes your case, the lawyer will take it on a contingency basis, you pay nothing until the matter is settled, and then the lawyer takes 30% to 40% of the money you recover.

If, on the other hand, you have a legal question, I do not believe any lawyer anywhere would give you free legal advice. You would pay by the hour. There are attorneys that do pro bono (for free) work, but again, it depends on your case.
the first words out of your mouth should be that question ,when you call his office,
Nope, when you call you will get a secretary who will schedule an appointment for you.
Most attorneys will offer you a free consultation and in most cases they may work with you in regards to payment
depends on how much advice you're asking for.
...nothin is free in this world....but mayb!
    you can

but some might req you to come into the office.
I kind of wish I could get a plumber on a sliding fee scale. Instead I assume I should get the crappy one for a ';discounted'; price. I would call the courthouse and see what information I could from the clerk or ask that person if they could connect me to the D.A.'s office for further assistance. But I don't know?
No. You can make an appointment to meet with a lawyer. Many will see you for free for the first appointment. You will be informed of your options but you won't get free advice.

  • Where can I get legal advice on anything?

It is tedious (as well as expensive and time consuming) to always go to a solicitor get legal advice on minor things like driving licenses or software usage.

New laws being published do not always get to the people and sometimes these people can get caught out without knowing why they have been fined or arrested.

Where can I get British legal advice on virtually any matter (as well as the minor things) without going to a solicitor or going through law school?

CheersWhere can I get legal advice on anything?
Depends on exactly what advice you're after, - but the Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) is a good starting point.

Look them up in the phone book or on ';Yell.com';Where can I get legal advice on anything?

Do you have a local law centre? They are manned by qualified lawyers who are unpaid for what they do and have various areas of expertise. It is simply a question of arriving on the day the centre is open, queueing up, giving your details and awaiting your turn. http://www.lawcentres.org.uk/

Can I please get some advice for traveling to Denmark?

My girlfriend is a Danish native and is 17. I am 18 and i'm from australia and we've been together a while. I am looking at traveling there in January and am applying for a working holiday visa tomorrow. Can anyone give me any tips on what not to do when i reach immigration in Denmark and how i could find work over there? I just really don't want to be denied entry or kicked out lolCan I please get some advice for traveling to Denmark?
Obey our laws, and you wont be kicked out. If your girlfriend has lived here for her whole life, it's pretty safe to assume that she knows about our norms and stuff, so she can explain them to you.

With an australian citizenship i doubt you will be denied entry. They usualy only take a closer look at people coming from third world countries and stuff like that. And on top of that, we are in need of more workers in Denmark. I suggest you apply for a job before you go here - that would pretty much remove the chance of you being denied access. Good luck with the trip.

How many people get terrible advice from Yahoo Answers?

Just asking because I had given a reasonable answer, w/ backup, but there were biosed people that down thumbed it. The poor person asking the question may end up developing a biosed point of view. How many people get terrible advice from Yahoo Answers?
All you can do is hope to get enough answers that you can form an oppinion and be openminded to what others think. I can't stand when someone does not read your whole question and then gives you a stupid answer that doesn't even go along with what you asked. How many people get terrible advice from Yahoo Answers?
I've received good and bad.As far as thumbs up and down, you can't put a whole lot in to that,it's just peeps opinion. All a part of what makes yahoo so dam addictive.
there are people that love to give stupid advice and will down play or put down any other kind of advice. don't want to admit they are wrong!
I see a lot of really awful answers here. The sad part is, I think only a small fraction of those are stupid on purpose. Most people just don't really know what they are talking about. It's different when you are asking for people's opinions- that's very subjective. But when it comes to factual information, most people are so wrong it's not even funny.
I'd not rate the advice terrible but my issues are:

    1) People must weigh the answers and maybe use them for further research.

    2) Some are not clear on what they asking.

    3) Flippant questions, well you know the saying, ';Ask a stupid question get a stupid....';
    ';But when it comes to factual information, most people are so wrong it's not even funny.';

This is quoted from the answer of holocaust denier/racist venin_noir. I rather hope she is including herself in the category of ';so wrong';, but I'm probably being naive. Seriously, check out some of her answers relating to Jews, Blacks, Naziism etc. She is spewing a lot of vile hatred on Yahoo Answers, and should be challenged.
every time i ask a question as to where to find something, i always get ';check e-bay'; as an answer. i wouldn't be asking if it was on ebay.
Very true it is possible for the asker to become biased based on answers being thumbed up or down. The only thing is the asker needs to not look for thumb up or down answers, but what suits their purpose the best. I know what you mean about getting terrible advice though, it seems like sometimes it's rare to get a good answer.
why do u think u got the best answer???it is a matter of difference ,and if u really did ,dont worry he will stil be able to read your answer ,it was just minimised unless your answer was flaged,

Can I get some advice on obtaining a master's degree?

I graduated college with a BS in Mathematics and I am now a secondary math teacher and loving it. I would now like to start a master's program and I am lost. I don't know what I should do or what any master's programs involve. I have thought/heard about a master's in mathematics or a masters in technology. Any suggestions? Can I get some advice on obtaining a master's degree?
I know you didn't exactly say this, but I have to support your decision to stay away from a master's in education. Definitely get a master's in your field or a related field (mathematics, technology, statistics, computer science) rather than education. If you decide to leave teaching, you will have a master's that actually applies to the rest of the world.

Look into grad programs at nearby schools. Evaluate each one to determine which programs best meet your needs. Then, apply to them. Also, look into your school district protocols for who pays for the degree. Often, employers will pay for your degree. You'll also get a nice salary boost.

You can talk to other math teachers in your school or email some of your favorite college professors for guidance. Can I get some advice on obtaining a master's degree?
Sounds like you want to continue teaching. If thats the case- you will want to get a Masters of Arts in Teaching or Masters in Education, unless you want to get an additional endorsement (now is a good time for that because you can get the masters with teaching license recommendation). You can get either of them online if you wish- thats what I did. Otherwise, they have many programs in the evening/weekend out there- probably any of the local bigger schools will have a program in that. You district may offer tuition help too.

  • Why do questions asking for referral advice get removed?

I realized that a previous question of mine on how to get referrals was removed when I placed it in business and the advertising sections... I wasn't soliciting referrals, just requesting how to go about getting them why was this? Does yahoo look at the reported messages or do they just delete them without looking? I am glad I was not banned, but I do not see how the questions were against the rules! I makes people afraid to ask for help on here....Why do questions asking for referral advice get removed?
You cannot solicit any information. The rule is a question must seek knowledge or advice beneficial to all.Why do questions asking for referral advice get removed?
It only takes one person hitting the Report Abuse button under your question to remove it. That does not mean that you broke a rule. It means that one person thinks you did. Yahoo does not even look at it when it is sent to you.

That is why there is a blue link to appeal in your Violation Notice. Click on that link. Do not waste your appeal asking what you did wrong. Explain that your question was a good one. When you win, you get your question re-instated.

You are allowed to ask about ';getting referrals'; in general. You are not allowed to ask for referrals for yourself. It seems like your question followed the rules.

Teens and Parents can I get your advice?

My cousin is 16 years old and a teacher at school is throwing her a baby shower. One of her friend's mother thinks that the teacher is influeincing other teen girls to have babies so she told her daughter she could not attend. Is she being too strict on her daughter??What would you have done if this was your daughter.Teens and Parents can I get your advice?
well i am 24 and have a 9 yrs old. i had many people do things for when i was in school. and some of the people were my teachers. i know that i am glad that i did have them to help me. so i know that when the people that i had around me said that showed them not to have kids at a young age and i know that one other did have a kid at a young age.Teens and Parents can I get your advice?
i think that woman is sick and needs a doctor. she is not only being too strict with her daughter, she is being unfair and abusive. im not a teen or parent im 21 but i hope it counts.
Ok, here is a full explanation on what I think. First off, no, her friend's mother is not being too strict on her daughter, because her mother might have a bad feeling about the teacher throwing a baby shower for your cousin. That was totally wrong for the teacher to get involved in this, and the teacher needs to mind her own business, because it is not fair to your cousin or anyone that knows about this. What she did was totally uncalled for.
The mother has a good point, but in my opinion, the damage is already done. I'm sure the teacher just wants to make sure the young mother has everything she'll need to raise her newborn. I think the mom's being strict, but in a caring way. Teenage pregnancy is a scary thing for us moms! But the strictness should come in the beginning .. .with the sex. Not with things like baby showers. That teenage mother is gonna need support and tons of it. I applaud the teacher for what she's doing.
i dont think the teacher is unfluencing that other teen girls have babies what kind of teacher would? i bet she is a strict and parinoid women that is worried the her daughter would think that the baby shower was great and wants to get pregant, my best friends mom is just like that over thinks the littlest things and over reacts about very thing
I think she is DEFENITELY being too strict. The teacher is probably just trying to make the 16 year old feel better. She probably has plenty of people tell her each day that she was being stupid. She needs someone to lean on. That mom should understand that.
I think its inappropriate for the teacher to get involved like that.
Probably, if it was my daughter(and yes I do have one, she's 19)not only would I let her go to the shower, I would also let her go into the Labor and Delivery. One of my grandbaby's Mother was in the Labor room when one of her best friends came in to see her.......she lasted through one pain and bolted from the room saying ';I've got to go take my Birth Control Pill. My daughter has a 7month old and regardless of what she does or who her friends are, she is my girl and I Love her.

Regardless what the girls Mother lets or doesn't let her attend she is probably thinking she's doing what's best for her daughter.
Are you the daughter of what? What do you care?

Oh, right its your cousins teacher.

    Right.

If I were the parent I wouldn't really incourage the girl to have to child like that but, I wouldn't be too strict.

    http://cyworld.com/hole0101
I think that the teens mom is just angry. There is nothing wrong with th teacher throwing the shower. In fact the teen needs everyone she can get right now to stand by her side. I am a mom of 5.
I also got pregnant at 16. I am now 22 and expecting my 3rd baby with my husband( father of all 3) I was lucky enough to have him stick around, as most teen dads run off. I don't think there is anything wrong with your cousin's teacher having a baby shower for her. Maybe her mom is upset because maybe she if feeling left out of what is going on.. and is scared of what her daughter is going to miss out on in life. I think the best is to get your cousin to sit down and talk with her mom. ask her why she is so against the baby shower? maybe if she is feeling left out, have the teacher and mom work on the shower together. All i can say is good luck to your cousin! being a mom is hard and you need all the help you can get. Stick by her side and just be there to listen! she needs it now more than ever.
Each parent has different morals and that is her right. If the mother thinks that way, i would assume she is only trying to look out for her daughter's best interest. But in my opinion, I don't see anything wrong with a teacher trying to help and having a baby shower for a girl she obviously cares for. If it were my daughter, I would let her attend. I am a parent by the way :)

I second the statement of the other reply. We are very gratefull for everything that you and the other military men and women have done for the country.

I work with a company called AmeriplanUSA. They are a 16 year old health benefits company. We do not offer insurance, but we offer huge discounts for dental, vision, prescription, chiropractic and medical expenses. Ameriplan can save you up to 80% on your expenses.

Ameriplan has the highest rating with the US Chamber of Commerce, the National Association of Dental Plans and the Consumer Health Alliance. The plans are very low priced, ranging from 19.95 to 59.95 for your entire household.

I encourage you to go to www.GreatHealthPlans.net to learn more about the company and the plans that are offered. It is a great alternative to insurance. There are no limits, no deductibles, no physical, and pre-existing conditions are okay.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Has anybody got any advice on how to get pregnant when struggling?

Hi all! My husband and I are trying to get pregnant but we do not want to involve any doctors as yet. Does anybody have some advice?Has anybody got any advice on how to get pregnant when struggling?
yes: i have a ton of advice.

first things first. before you try you both need to take the right supplements for 3 months - this will improve egg and sperm quality.

your husband needs to wear loose boxers, loose trousers and keep his cell phone away from his crotch. laptops must not be used on laps without a cushion under them, and he is not allowed to have hot baths.

he should also lower his alcohol intake and cut out cigarettes or any recreational drugs. caffeine is ok in moderation but he should make sure he drinks a lot of water and is well hydrated.

have him take a wellman supplement daily or some other male multi. it needs to have selenium and zinc in there among other things so i recommend wellman. he should also take 1000mg of vitamin c, b complex, vitamin e %26amp; a probiotic.

regular exercise is important for you both. walking, swimming and yoga are particularly good.

for you: take a prenatal supplement with at least 400 folic acid, daily. you will also need a probiotic, vitamin c (but not too much), and a b complex.

evening primrose oil is good for the first half of your cycle, from when you get your period up to ovulation but you should then stop taking it for the 2nd half of your cycle. it helps to create better quality fertile mucous but can cause uterine contractions so best not to take it 2nd half of cycle.

you should cut way back on alcohol and caffeine. i allow myself one caffinated drink a day but no more than that. you need to drink lots of water and fruit juice. keep hydrated.

your diets need to be super healthy. no junk food. fresh things and stay away from cheap meats injected with hormones.

OK now on to the fun stuff.

you will need to familiarise yourself with your ovulation pattern. join www.fertilityfriend.com and buy a basal body thermometer.

take your temperature each morning when you wake and enter it into fertility friend.

you will see after 1 or 2 cycles roughly where you ovulate, and you will be able to confirm that you do, infact, ovulate regularly.

you can use ovulation prediction kits to detect ovulation. they are good but i found them very stressful and expensive - its hard to guess when to test so I invested in the clearblue fertility monitor instead. it cost me 拢60 but it was a godsend. we conceived our first month using it. sadly i miscarried but that is nothing to do with the effectiveness of the monitor.

we also used preseed intimate moisturizer. this lubricant is also a god send. not only does it make sex fun but it creates an ideal environment for sperm to survive so that they can reach your egg.

we conceived the cycle we used this with the monitor.

best things to know : sperm in an ideal environment (assuming they are healthy) can live in your body for up to 5 days. they get lazy after about 2 days. you are fertile for only 2 days a month. it is very important when ttc, to get that sperm in there the days leading up to ovulation. they hang around in there ready for the egg when it is released.

so we used preseed the day before o, the day of o and the day after o. we also made sure we didnt have too much sex in the first week of my cycle . we focused our efforts (7 days every day by sheer luck more than anything) in week 2 of my cycle.

you should not let your husband go more than 5 days without ejaculating for the health of his sperm, he should not ejaculate more than once a day. sex every other day is fine through your fertile time but every day is better assuming a healthy sperm count. if this is not possible, every other day throughout your cycle is also a good route to a conception.

i hope all this helps. please feel free to contact me.Has anybody got any advice on how to get pregnant when struggling?
the best time to conceive is 14 days from the first day of your period.when you are ovulating.

so you need to count 14 days from your first day of your period then have sex for 5 days straight.

    i hope this helps.

    good luck
