My grandfather passed away in 2004. He was currently living with another woman in another state other than New York. (Where he is from) When he passed away the woman DID NOT want to give my grandfather's ashes back to us so we can give him a proper burial. It is now 2008 %26amp; till this day things are in shambles and she has not given up the ashes. What legal action I can take to get my grandfathers ashes back. Please help with correct details %26amp; how to go about it. Getting Legal Advice to get my grandfathers ashes back?
You might be able to contact legal aid - but please consider the fact that he may prefer to remain with the woman he was living with.
