some afterparty tips to make sure i dont make a fool out of myself. I have a date and we both are planning on staying sober. He's a partier and I don't want to seem very unexperienced and awkward. Can I get some advice on prom after-parties?
It's just like any other party. The only difference is that an afterparty occurs *after* the main event.
You can wear the same outfit you wore to prom, or change into something simple and casual (like jeans). Do NOT go to the trouble of putting on a whole new dressy outfit.
Don't worry about making a fool of yourself - the kids who are drinking will be acting WAY more foolish than you possibly could. Just relax, have fun, talk with people. If the party gets out of hand or you feel uncomfortable, then just excuse yourself, thank the host, and leave. Can I get some advice on prom after-parties?

Have an escape plan in the event that your date gets drunk and is unable to take you home.
People are going to get drunk and act stupid. Don't be one of them and MOST importantly don't get in a car with one of them behind the wheel.
Stay safe,
