What ribbons will I get for going to Camp Casey as a 13M, and also, got any advice for a new private going overseas to Korea? Will I be able to go to Japan at all? What are normally the APFT standards for the type of unit I'm going to? Pretty good PT or no? Is it really as cold as everyone says? Black syphilis or anything like it isn't real, is it? Thanks in advance! What ribbons will I get for going to Camp Casey as a 13M, and also, got any advice for a new private?
Not that awards and ribbons aren't nice...but they add up. I started to cringe when my unit got a new one. Man, I had to buy a new bar and new ribbons because if you add one you've got to replace all of them to make it look right.
Forget it if you buy the flat ribbons then you have to buy a new set. After a while you don't want anymore.
I'm sorry for sounding crabby. I read this and it brought back memories. I remember when I couldn't wait to get my first row, then after a while it started costing money especially when there was a full sized medal involved.
I was a Navy Corpsman and one of my commands loved to dress us up in full dress and let me tell you getting it all together was a pain.
Yes, I'm whining, but I'm a veteran now so they are all in my shadow box and I don't have to worry about it anymore.
Good for you and I hope you do well.
One piece of advice for Korea. Is watch the water bottles. Make sure the seal is not broken. Some Korean merchants will sell bad water in used bottles. At least they were trying to do that when I went. If you buy your water on base or at a store (not on the street) then it should be safe.
Buy a mink blanket they are soooo warm. I still have mine and I still love it.What ribbons will I get for going to Camp Casey as a 13M, and also, got any advice for a new private?
You get the KDSM.
PT, you need to score at least 60 points in each event. But getting a a 280 or above is what you should aim for.
They have MWR trips to the surrounding areas.
The idea behind those stories is that you're there to do a job, not bang Korean whores.
