How come the Kings and Presidents of the world don't get politcal advice from the Pope anymore?

When did that stop? At first, the Pope's were equal if not higher than the Kings of the earth. But it all stopped one day, why and when?How come the Kings and Presidents of the world don't get politcal advice from the Pope anymore?
