When did that stop? At first, the Pope's were equal if not higher than the Kings of the earth. But it all stopped one day, why and when? How come the Kings and Presidents of the world don't get politcal advice from the Pope anymore?
I think when that stopped it was the end of the middle agesHow come the Kings and Presidents of the world don't get politcal advice from the Pope anymore?
I wouldn't say that they don't or that it has stopped.
The Church has spoken very staunchly for centuries on political scandal (recent decades with regards to Communism.) You might be interested in studying the Middle Ages and the expansion of Western Civilization - in addition to core parts of history and its effect on the Catholic Church: The Protestant Reformation, the Counter Reformation, the Enlightenment, and the French Revolution. You also may be interested in learning about the works and life of Pope Pius XII during the second world war, too.
Most functioning governments are secular, while their leaders respect the Pope he cannot advise them on anything beyond the religious aspects of leadership. This has always been the case in modern times.
Of course, you don't read real history books so you wouldn't know.
We've gotten to the point in civilization where we don't feel the need to consult a shaman.
I am not so sure that they don't. The Pope meets with world leaders all the time. God Bless...
