Could I get some advice on MP3 players? Do they need an FM transmitter to be able to work in your car?

Also could you tell me if this is OK, I don't listen to loads of songs, I think 512mb or 1gb is enough for me, mainly I want to be able to easily listen in my room and car etc rather than go on the internet all the time.

I found this one on the Argos site, is it alright, or could I get a better one from elsewhere, As long as it looks good (black and sleek) and it does allow me to listen everywhere then I am not bothered about anything else.

Also just lost my job so can only stretch to 拢40. I have provided the link to the site, would appreciate an opinion since I personally don't download music and would like a simple one with a lcd display that allows me to do it easily. This is the one I was thinking about:

The link is too long...if you got to the mp3 player section, and sort the list by lowest price first it is on the 4th page. It is called iTronics 1GB MP3 Player with FM Transmitter and it is the 2nd item down.

or are some of the others better?Could I get some advice on MP3 players? Do they need an FM transmitter to be able to work in your car?
if you have a tape deck in your car you can buy a cassette adaptor in asda for 拢7 and you put the tape in and then plug it into the earphone part of the mp3player - it then plays through your car audio.

FM transmitters are good but only if you get good radio signals in your area - they are also mostly designed for ipods etc

itronics is not that good of a make - try to get bush or sony - the mp3player 1 gb are very cheap now so you should be able to et one if you shop around.

Amazon is very good for cheap good quality mp3playersCould I get some advice on MP3 players? Do they need an FM transmitter to be able to work in your car?
MP3 players can be connected to cars in a few different ways. FM Transmitters work ';ok.'; They jam up a frequency (usually in the 88's) and play the sound from your MP3 player. They are usually very staticy, wont work in certain areas, and are hard to get a nice clear and loud volume from them.

There are also cassette desks with a cable running from them. The casette goes into the cassette deck in your car and the other end plugs into the headphone jack of your MP3 player. These are somewhat cumbersome, but will offer the best sound quality over the FM transmitter.
I bought a FM Transmitter for my mp3 and I DONT like it!

The static reminds me of a bad AM station...

I wont buy another one until I hear of one that REALLY works.

If anybody has that one please tell.
yes, you can get them anywhere.

i got one from, uhm, i think it was kmart.

it was 20 dollars, and it just plugs into the cigarette lighter and broadcasts your mp3 over the radio.

you can basically find them anywhere, and theyre not very expensive.

hope this helps. :]
